My favorite fragrant plants are definitely the night bloomers. I love that they open after darkness sets in, and that they're gone by morning. It seems like their perfume is a secret, makes them extra magical. I grow several such plants, Epiphyllum oxypetalum is one of my favorites. It grows without fuss in an east facing window threw the winter, and on a shaded porch threw the summer. I've had mine at least 10 years now, Can't say enough about how much I love this plant![]() close up of the blooms ![]() whole plant |

Those Epi's are just beautiful. Do they all have scents or like the Streps, just some of them? |

I've never encountered a hybrid that had any fragrance. Most of the species do. Oxypetalum has a strong, sweet and exotic fragrance that I absolutely love. |
