I thought it was difficult to give up the babies when I was breeding birds. Would you believe, I feel the same way about my streptocarps babies. I actually sold six of the babies of Salmon Sunset on eBay and it was a real sad time watching them go. They were so cute and a few had blooms when they left. I was worried about shipping with blooms but I wanted the people to see what they were getting. I even took pictures and sent the pics ahead of the plant just in case something would happen to it. The customers loved seeing what they were getting. The weather was so hot, I did not ship for three weeks due to the extreme heat of the day. I was afraid for the plants in those hot trucks even as carefully as I pack them. Here is one of my babies that bloomed prior to being shipped. ![]() At least I have pictures and memories. ![]() |
