Loved looking at the photos and reading about the different tropical plants. Had to Google the Sausage Tree and saw a few others that I recognized like the orchids and pitcher trap plants. Just beautiful. But nature is beautiful, with the help of the Flecker Botanical Gardens or left untouched. I wished the Sausage Tree grew here in my climate.
Thanks for the tour.

Yes, be great to have one growing near the BBQ. Then you could just pick some and throw them on. Hilarious! Glad you enjpyed the photos.

Zig, I was fortunate enough to spend a day wandering around Flecker back in 2007. My son in law, who grew up in Cairns thought we were a bit unbalanced in wanting to spend a rainy day out in a garden in the winter, but the experience was unforgettable. There was so much in bloom in June, that I vowed to get back there in summer as I am sure it will be breathtaking. Thanks so much for bringing back a truly happy memory. There were dozens of costus, broms and gingers blooming, like this Etlingera elatior (torch ginger)

It's a jungle out there

Well, that is the effect I'm trying to achieve. This cubit is a tale of plants, of gardens, my continuing tussle with Mother Nature, and life in our tropics.
