Thank you, Sharon and Maria ... There is much about Alaska that is similar to Austria ... especially Glaciers. A large part of Austria contains major part of the Alps. Here are some images of Glaciers for Maria. The first two are of Raven Glacier ... it took about a four mile hike up the Crow Mountain pass for these images. The third, is from Exit Glacier, near Seward ... perhaps Sharon visited there when she went to Carol's memorial. Fourth, is from Prince William Sound ... this is a glacier that is falling into the sea. Fifth, is from Byron Glacier, near Portage, Alaska ... one can walk right up to the Glacier Sixth, is taken from the air while flying with a friend ... it is of Portage Glacier, south of Anchorage. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Magpie" Jon Alaska images at the Magpie cubit - go to Alaska Photos and Commentary: http://cubits.org/Magpie/thread/view/42616/ Also Post under "Jon Deisher" on FB, LinkedIn & G+ (If you need an invitation, let me know) |
