| My biggest past time of late has been photography... and trying to improve both creatively and technically. I also like to draw, but I have not had the time to sit down and do anything in a long time. Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith? |

| VWR, I could have guessed that! You are amazing with that camera. I have noticed an increased artistic flair in your photos. I am an avid art appreciator and have a good eye for talent. I'd love to see you post some images of your drawings. Do you do mostly wildlife there too? |

| Yes... actually any kind of animals. Never been much for drawing still, landscape, or people. Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith? |

| I have had a lot of hobbies over the years. I've turned my hand at a lot of different crafts, macrame', leather tooling, ceramic painting, just to name a few. I've tried a lot of different crafts. We had a lot of animals over the years I guess the horses made the biggest impact on our lives. It's is one of those hobbies that you build your life around. Then in my mid forties we needed to make some changes and found good homes for the horses. That opened up our lives to more traveling experiences and that led to SCUBA diving. Then there is Gardening. I have always been interested in gardening but never seemed to have the time to do as much as I would have liked. Now that I have retired I can really indulge myself. | I used to do a lot of things - Of course, I gardened, but I also made wreaths and centerpieces and I would bake cookies and take them to some of the older folks and sit with them for hours, enjoying the tales of their lives. I have found that a lot of that stuff has gone by the wayside over the years. It seems as I started having children in my mid -twenties, that more and more things were left behind and probably most of it was more a lack of time than anything else. Now that my children are grown up and having children of their own, I find myself thinking about getting back into some of those things. Maybe not the centerpeices and the like, but definitely interested in making wreaths again and trying new recipes. I have to say though, my first love has to gardening.......  |

| Carolyn, It's nice that you are thinking of resuming some of your old passions. I've been spending some time over in the Art Cubit. There are many artists there encouraging people to get back to work on their art. So far they are having some good success. Artists are showing people who've been away from it for a while, new techniques and some of these folks who've finally finished raising families are picking up brushes and whatnot, creating beautiful things. It's making me want to take up sculpture and pottery again. |

| I think you go through stages, you can throw yourself so completely into something and then leave that and move into a completely different area. I have tried a lot of things some just dabble a little and then others get completely engrossed in. Life is Great! | I used to make and sell a lot of jewelry. Everything that I made was made using parts of broken vintage jewelry, buttons and real stones. I loved doing it, but like so many other things, it got to taking so much time and the supplies were everywhere. But it was a lot of fun & friends still have and wear a lot of the pieces that I made. |

| Macrame' was one of the crafts that I really immersed my self in. I made so many pieces that I took them to a local craft fair just so I had something to do with them and could afford to buy more supplies. The twins were just babies and I would stay up most of the night and make hangers. Turned it into a small business making and selling finished macrame', selling supplies and teaching classes. Then I just got tired of hauling everything around all the loading and unloading so I stopped. I did a lot of leather work before that. I made tons of leather belts. Still have the tools. Before that it was sewing. I made several nice things in sewing class in HS even won a few awards. Made some of Julies baby clothes. Still make a few things from time to time but I feel as thought I have lost some of my skills and would like to take a few classes to catch up but I can't find any. Life is Great! | Holly, I love to sew but stopped about 10 years ago. My grandfather was a tailor who made his own patterns. Seemed like I was just 4 or 5 years old sitting on the floor in his shop under his cutting table pulling fabric scraps out of his boxes and making clothes for my dolls. I stopped because clothes have just become so cheap while sewing supplies have gotten so expensive. Also, in my old home I would have to put everything away whenever I got company. So I sold my ancient machine and my hugh cartons of supplies as I really had nowhere to store them. When I moved here, I bought a new sewing machine to make curtains and what not. It's still in the box unopened after 4 years. Next year I will want to reupholster some things, so it will probably get used then. Macrame has been enjoying a new popularity again. Maybe it's time to dig out some of that stuff and give it a try. |

My passion obviously is gardening, that's one thing which will never change  I used to do a lot of sewing, knitting and craft projects. I even tried basket weaving years ago and have ONE basket to prove it! LOL I used to sew a lot of my own clothes as well as for the children. One of my favorite sewing projects was making baby quilts for friends' and family's babies - my best friend's daughter still has the one I made for her and used it when her own son was born! I hadn't done any sewing in years but made a special quilt for Rick for our first Christmas together. I had been trying my hand at iron-on transfers and used photos of the wildflowers that brought us together

| Knitting is something I could easily get obsessed with - I love it! I can't count how many sweaters I've knit over the years but suffice it to say that my children were plenty warm in those cold Maine winters It had been quite a few years since I spent a lot of time knitting but I've picked up the needles again in recent years. Rick says I look like an old lady and I tell him one of these days I'm going to finally be able to relax and he'll find me in my chair on the sitting deck with my needles clicking away! Rocks - I've been collecting rocks since I was a child and have no plans to stop any time soon.  Dragonflies - I've got them everywhere - jewelry, garden objects and interior decorating. When I finally get around to redecorating the bathroom I'm hoping to use Dragonflies as a theme. I've already got the Dragonfly switchplate covers so I'm off to a good start! Wildflowers - I've always been interested in them but I think they became a "passion" when I lived in Maine. We had almost 100 acres and I spent hours scouring the woods every spring to document all those I could find and their location so I could find them the next year. The property was so diverse, from rich woodlands to a boggy marsh where a small stream had been dammed up by beavers and up into the rocky cliffs where there would always be a few treasures to be found. I really miss that property but I certainly made the most of it while I was there "Garden Objects" - my newest passion If I had the money you'd find them peppered throughout the gardens. For now I'll just have to be satisfied to accumulate a few every year until I can figure out how to make them for myself! I'm sure I'll think of more  |

| Of course for me too like everyone else my first passion is gardening. I've had a love for plants since I was about 12 and took care of my moms house plants. I love photography and would really like to take a class or two if money and time allowed. I am an avid seed collector and will never even begin to plant the ones I have yet I keep collecting them! When the kids were small I was into crafts like wreath making and flower arranging, tole painting, stuff like that. I still like it but just don't have the time. I always wanted to learn how to knit or crochet. It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give... |

| Debbie... I love dragonflies too! I have alot of dragonfly knickknacks, etc. I have a gorgeous stained glass dragonfly i bought last summer at Lewis Ginter Gardens! I'll have to make a photo of it to show you. Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith? |

| I am a drawer ... boy, that sounds like a piece of furniture, lol. I've just recently picked up colored pencils for portraiture - I've always done people, but want to expand my horizons, some. Next week I start some watercolor courses ... it seems like I do okay in classes but once I get out on my own it doesn't work for me. So, this one will go back to the basics and span 8 weeks instead of a weekend, see if it sticks better. This is a nephew-in-law done in Prismacolor pencils on watercolor paper.

You're no "drawer" - you're an artist! I used to paint in high school and would love to try my hand at it again someday - there isn't much I wouldn't like to try, at least once!  I used to play the piano but haven't played since high school. I was a frustrated piano player because my teacher taught me classical and I would have much rather been playing boogie music Also a former tap dancer who had dreams of becoming a Rockette one day! We can all dream, right?  |

| Wow Sheryl your good!! My husband and son are very good at drawing too. My son is actually better than his father...I can't even draw a circle! No musical talent at all. My brother and sister could both play just about any instrument...not me, can't even whistle!! It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. Quoting:not me, can't even whistle!! LOL, Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? I could never whistle when I was younger, then in my 20's I could! THEN, for about 10 years I don't know why but I couldn't whistle and about 10 years ago, all of a sudden I could again?  |
