Yeah, I noticed that too, Pam. I have a number of things that I should get rid of - mainly old clothing.

My older sister lives with us. She has learning disabilities but she lives to make hooked rugs to past the time. She has so many finished ones that we started taking some of those to the Salv. Army also. Hopefully they can make a few bucks on them. lol We just have too much stuff. This year we're going to freecycle all but a few of the outside Christmas decorations. It's too much work to put them up and take them down. And too much $ for the electric bill now.

I am cursed by the library--I see these really interesting craft books as I shelve them and I just have to sigh and put them away; I'll never get the time. I actualy finished a prayer shawl but didn't like the colors so much after it was all done. I have quilt fabric and embriodery supplies, in a box, around here somewhere

Rolling on the floor laughing I used to have them everywhere in my house - my grandmother made most of them and a few had been passed down through the years. Alas, when I moved to VA my "country" theme didn't fit with Rick's tastes. Sad I still have most of them though and whenever I decorate for Christmas I bring a few out to add a special touch. Thumbs up

Pam, your Halloween bracelet turned out great! I tip my hat to you. I've been hesitant to add anything else to my list of hobbies but a recent trip to the local craft shop had me shopping for beads. Oh my, another hobby which could be addicting! Blinking

I haven't done any knitting since last winter. Even though I've got a sweater in the works that needs to be finished I have a more pressing project which needs to be finished first. I've had a toddler's sweater I made over 10 years ago which just needs the last few details completed on it (collar and buttons). I've been saving it all these years because I knew some day I'd know someone I could give it to but it had to be for a "girl"! My best friend's daughter is expecting in November and they know now the baby's a girl! Hurray! Her favorite color is purple/lavender and the sweater will be perfect, that's the color of the sweater! Thumbs up

Sheryl, I'm envious of your artistic abilities. I tip my hat to you. I used to fool with watercolors years ago but never really developed any talent - was always too critical of my work. Sticking tongue out With my recent work with concrete I'm thinking sculpting might be more up my alley, it was so much fun!

Pam, on that note, I'll be curious to see what you do with polymer clay. I've been doing some research lately and I'm intrigued with what I've seen. I'm interested to hear what you'll be making? Ears perked up!

Cool Website, Pam! Thanks for posting it. Thumbs up

It seems that folks will be trying their hands at some new items this winter.

Deb, Never completed projects is something I think all of us are too familiar with. Your sweater sounds lovely and I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated!

Pam, Maybe you can sell some of your sister's hooked rugs here on cubits when the ecommerce site gets up a
and moving.

Christmas decorations are one of the items that I really have to pare down this year. I will definitely be using less with the electric bill increase. The lights are also much harder to maintain with the severe winds. Anymore, I really don't want DSO having to spend so much time up on ladders too. I will have to get creative about adding color and minimal lighting.

Has anyone been thinking of trying any new hobbies this winter?

Oh, don't worry! If she starts making cleaning a priority - I WILL find someone!
There must be some sort of anti- FLY lady group, unorganized housekeepers, clutter keepers union or something!

LOL It does seem to pile up now doesn't it? Last year on DG Chris had started a thread called " Dirty little screts of the MA" where people were showing their clutter. It was pretty funny.

lol - We did that on one of the yahoo groups one boring winter afternoon. Everyone posted a photo of their desk area. Not a pretty site. A guy beat us all though, hands down. Not only a mess, but empty soda cans and chip bags on the floor around him!

I think we did it pretty much house wide. The good things that came out of it were people sharing great tips for "quick' cleans ups and "managable clutter control".

I remember my "confession" on DG - I honestly believe coming 'out of the closet' helped me! Rolling on the floor laughing I still have dust settling from time to time but at least I'm keeping up with the laundry! Big Grin

Debbie, I remember those days....two "little" boys were hard to keep up with. I honestly don't know which is worse, these days I have a hard time keeping up with the one "big" boy's messes. Grumbling

Thought I'd tell you all of a good laugh I had in class yesterday .... we were painting hands, which is the bane of many an artist's existence. I was really in the groove, when you stepped back a few feet, they were definitely readable. So I was painting, painting... stepping back ... getting my highlights and adjusting my color .... the model came around to look at how we all did. She got to mine and started laughing. I'm feeling a little put out - "You don't like it? What's wrong?"

She said, "Well, I was only *born* with 4 fingers and a thumb on that hand, thanks for the extra!"

Yep, gave her 6. I have NO idea how I did it. We all laughed until we cried...
