too funny OK I really need to just recycle all my cross stitch books and materials. I just am not interested anymore, it was in style about twenty five years ago. Knitting seems to be somewhat current. Knitting and sewing are no longer a cheaper way to have nice clothes though--nice materials are not cheap.

Yes true. I should show you a sweater I did in high school or colege very complex pattern like ten different rows making a lacey diamond. In mohair and too fuzzy!

Mohair!! I had several. They got to be a pain always shedding on your clothes. I knitted a few intricate cable sticted pattern pullovers, which I loved. Wore them all to death. I even knitted a beautiful purple cape with silver threaded pom pom ties. I have a gorgeous set of giant beret and scarf in turqoise angora with colored specks throughout it.
My GF knit me a fabulous copper/gold/bronze/orange all metallic yarns scarf. It is fabulous!!
Sally, I would love to have your X stitch books and materials if you don't mind holding on to them until we see each other or I would send $$ to pay for the shipping. I had a stack of very nice patterns and some how misplaced them. Not sure if they are somewhere in the house or loaned them but the newer patterns aren't as nice as the older ones were.
Talk about dirty little secerets, I could have a stack of books somewhere in my house and not be able to find them.
Stormy what are you doing up at this time in the morning? Just woke up hoping to get back to sleep soon. We are packing up in the morning and moving over to Daytona Beach.
Well along with some x stitching I will be working on this winter I hope to get some cleaning and organizing done but really you just have to set some priorities and cleaning and organizing is pretty low on the list.

Holly I will be De Lighted to gather some cross stitch stuff for you. All too good to throw away ! I have two magazines that were at the grocery store (thats how popular Xstitch was then) with so many pretty patterns. A pair of hydrangea blosoms, pink or blue, morning glory pillowcases, I did one pretty tulip picture years ago, peach tulips.

Folks to get ready for the fall/winter season we will be revamping this forum to expand it into different categories. Hopefully people will be encouraged to post more about their hobbies and current projects as well as resources.
I've been working on this on and off the last week or so. Finally finished it tonight.
My daughter bought me the large turquoise cabochon and nuggets in New Mexico

Very nice Pam!!
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...
Wow! I'm curious how do you decide on a design, do you have a 'pattern' or do you just play as you go, so to speak? The design of that piece is incredible!
