Too cute. Yeah they can breed for a few weeks I think it is. I'm not sure what kind of problems this close of a breeding can cause. Never dealt with it. Tug and Ben are both still intact. I need to get Ben out of the pen with his Mom and Godiva. He still acts like a baby but no telling how long that might last. And he is so big for his age he could get with either of them. Tug is squealing to the mare in the next barn and she is squealing at him so she must be in heat and he must be glad about it. Do you have plans for Echo? Is she 3/4 TWH? Does she gait?
She definitely has the head nod, and a kind of tippy-toe trot, so I think yes. With those incredible legs (these appear extra long, who knows) giving the appearance of delicacy.... lol
Stormy wasn't quite two when this all went down, so you definitely want to think about separating them out or getting the vet out there.
From what I'm hearing, unless you see a problem right off of the bat, there probably isn't one, so I'm hoping she'll be okay. Please don't think I'm being cavalier -I'm really not happy about it, but there's not much I can do about it, if you know what I mean. I'm just glad she's a filly, so I don't have any more of these issues!

well it's quite interesting to me as a non horse person--unless you count the preteen years when I was mentally a horse person and made up lists of names for the horses I would eventually own. very LOL. ". Rainbow Strider", crap like that!!!

Oh trust me - there are some *rrrreeeaaaallllly* dumb names out there - it's like every registered horse has to be called something like "Joe" because their registered name is so bizarre. Rainbow Strider is way better than SO many!
My only registered horse - Sass - isn't as bad as many but still kinda dumb - "Spotlight's Sassy Patches" - it would make sense if one of her parents was "Spotlight", but no go.

We only have 2 registered horses but some of the others have "show names". We have Olympic Miss Glory and Ebony's Chocolate Beauty. Then there is Cafe' Au Lait, Tug's Honor, Max A Million, Awdda Ben and Shaq Attack. They all have "barn" names. Glory, Godiva, Coffee, Tug, Maxxy, Ben, Shaq, Fly and Jippers. Most of those registered names come from some part of the blood lines but they can really get way out there in how they string them together! LOL

Cheryl, don't feel bad. I went to a party to celebrate a visit from one of my friends who lives in Colorado. It was held at her mother's house, who is also my friend. I've been to her mother's house about 5 times since Christmas. Yesterday, in front of the daughter, the mother gave me a christmas gift from the daughter that the daughter had mailed to the mother to give to me, back in November!!
All of this time, my friend was probably wondering why I never thanked her for the gift

Do you muck all of the stalls? Friends of mine who had horses, say that taking care of them was the best workout, that kept them in the best shape in their lives.
