typing with one hand and one finger. 2 weeks ago fell down deck stairs because the "deck stain" that my husband bought after giving our old can to the paint clerk, turned out to be "lateral and siding" upon close inspection of lower part of label. i was barefoot and it was raining that day. this weekend was dry so that no one seemed to be having a problem (most had sneakers on). yesterday, i watered a few pots on the deck. i had on crocks that, upon later inspection, i found to have no more tread left. i just hate feeling so stupid when i have to tell everyone that i slipped down the steeper deck stairs and broke my wrist. now that i'm high on pain killers, the depressing thoughts of what i can't do has not really kicked in yet. give me plenty of advanced notice if you wold like to visit and go junqueing, allison. it is taking me forever to get.myself together today. i hate this hunt and peck typing. will copy this and paste wherever ncessary.

Teri, I hope your family is being kind to their poor in injured mom and Grandma on this mother's day. I'm thinking of how much your love of cooking and gardening is going to suffer during all of this.

Has anyone ever done part of the World 's Longest Yardsale?

We drove down to Ala one year and started there and worked our way up to VA and then went home. It's really something to see. Someday we hope to start in Ohio and work south.

Wow, that's really cool Pam. I wonder how the organization spreads and when it will be coming our way. I haven't been junqueing much lately as I need to get rid of stuff, not buy more.

But I used to enjoy that flea market up in Saylorsburg. Did you ever go to that one.? We have another member, Jessica/Gardadore who helps Teri with her swaps. Jessica lives in Saylorsburg.

Do you sell your beadwork and ceramics at the flea markets? Holly always did a lot of ceramics and I used to make and sell jewelry from antique parts and sell it in a number of venues, fleas being one.

Oh yes, we try to go to Saylorsburg about once a month. My husband has an appointment next week at the VA Hosp to see about getting an electric scooter so he will be able to get out more. We also go to Leesport Farmers Market and Flea in Leesport, PA. We like it better than Saylorsburg but it's a much longer drive to get there.
I used to sell my ceramics at Marshal's Creek Flea Market. The construction there kind of killed the market. I started selling on ebay after that. And I'm working on a cubit here, but I'm not sure what kind of business will come from that. Not that I want to work too hard at it anymore - lol. The co-op keeps me pretty busy most of the spring and summer. Beading is my winter hobby when I can't be outside.

Jessica doesn't spend much time online, but I'll have to email her to come in and meet you and maybe she can meet you at the Saylorsburg flea market one day. She is a very dedicated gardener.

Has anyone ever been to "the Antiques Capital of the US" Adamstown, Pa? LOL It is a wonderful day or weekend get a way.

My DSO calls it the recycling capital of the world. Hilarious!

If you are an antique enthusiast, you can not beat the selection to be found in Adamstown. The very near town of Denver also has quite a few. It takes at least a weekend to visit all of the shops and dealers. There is a very nice Holiday Inn right off of the turnpike entrance just a half mile from the start of the antiques shops. Room costs are roughly $70/night. They serve a very nice breakfast buffet for about $5. It's quite a nice deal.

There are at least 2 diners, 3 or 4 family restaurants and 2 or 3 very nice upscale restaurants. The Stoudt's Brewery & German Village is located there and has lots of fun activities year round. If you enjoy antiquing, this is one of the greatest weekend getaways in the US.

The antique prices range from dirt cheap to you've got to be kidding. Most however fall into the, that's going home with me range.

Looks like that one is right up my alley Thumbs up
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Oh Ronnie, You need to do that. It's about an hour and 15 minute ride for me, so count on that. Some of the big places are only open on Sundays.

We went to Saylorsburg Flea Market this. We saw quite a few nice things, but just don't have the room. We bought a little tricycle, about 10" tall that we'll use outside next year when we put the gnomes out. It was a gorgeous day for the market though.
