We still had a couple jars of beets from last year, but we just did 6 more pints this morning. Our daughter discovered them last year when we went to Fla so we made a few jars for her.
So far, Gary has made jellies this year, cherry, raspberry, blackberry and strawberry. And I made 20 jars of pickles. Then I freecycled the rest of the cukes, I was pickled out - lol. We ordered a bushel and that was way too many - lol
I'm up in the air about tomatoes. We'd have to buy more jars, buy the tomatoes.
I know they would taste so much better, but not sure if I want to do all the work.
Maybe in a week or so, I'll feel like doing them.
No, Gary just split and squeezed them. Since you are cooking the juice out of the cherries and drain them through a sieve, it doesn't matter if you miss a pit or too.
There is no pulp in the jelly.
