Wow, John What beautiful photos of our lovely Chesapeake area. I myself often sail on the Chesapeake and love exploring these sandy coves and natural areas. Thank you for helping us to see their beauty from a visitor's eyes.

I have a friend who lives in the Apopka area and he often speaks of it's beauty. The plant in your avatar is amazing. Our Wildlife Forum has some amazing photos of the wildlife to be found in these areas.

and our Bug Forum also has some incredible photographs of the regional insect life

Please feel free to explore these and add any of your own photos. Thank you for visiting our part of the world, both in person and virtually. Big Grin

John, thanks for prompting me to check out Calvert Cliffs! http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/southern/calvertcliff... I don't make it to the shore often but your photos encourage me to put this destination on my list when I do! Thumbs up

I've visited your little corner of Florida in recent years and look forward to returning! Smiling

This area is well known for fossil sharks teeth. I last hiked that about twelve years ago with small kids , it was a little long then but probably just right now.
When Mom was young in the 1940s she and DH were in a club of other young couples. They'd collect their gas ration coupons and pile in a couple cars and drive down to Camp Canoy a YMCA property down there.

Oh, I love fossil hunting!! There's lots of good spots in PA for that.
