Got my physical done...and am good...haven't lost or gained any weight since before my surgery...so that is good in its own way. I passed everything but weight. But when he checked my throat and asked me about my sleep habits...attitude...and the fact that I was worried about my metabolism being sooo slow...he found that my tonsils are extremely large and that I am not sleeping well enough and most of it has been happening in the last 3 to 4 months...but I didn't realize it until he started asking questions. I never have been a big sleeper due to back pain...so he thinks I need to have a sleep study done...and then have my tonsils out. He thinks that will fix almost everything...including lack of weight loss...and I probably do not have sleep apnea...and that would make me very happy. I just want to be healthy:)
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Going on a nice hike with the boys and lil Copper tomorrow. Night all.

I use to take a body flow class. It was a movement class a bit of a mix. Not really yoga and not quite aerobics. It was a good class for me. I always have trouble with the aerobic classes. Kicks in my Asthma every time.

Spinning classes at my gym are so popular you have to call and reserve your bike. Some of the spin classes are very cliquey there so I watch which ones I pick They are great for burning calories for sure, but it's hard on your cucaracha until you do it a while

That is one of the things that I miss about my beloved bicycle. It had a great saddle. if you read up on the biking sites, there are hundreds of discussions on how to choose the right saddle. biking is particularly good for hip, knee and ankle joints, things that I really need to take care of.
This street that I am living on is one that I used to bike a lot on when I was a kid and I'm been dying to get out there and give it a try, but am not sure that I will. Parts of it are quite windy & hilly with no sidewalk and only one lane and the traffic is 10 fold what it was back then. Of course the realization of my own mortality is considerably greater than it was when I was 10.
I have to find another bike shop to work with, mine closed. My bike is no longer being made, so I have to choose another. She will be a hard act to follow and of course, none of the new ones are yellow.

You think I worried about you last month- just try riding on the street! My DH took a tumble. THank heaven and earth for helmets and dental implants and ERs

LOL yes that's my thought, I'd go over the guard rail, down the enbankment and into the creek.
When I was a kid, I was the neighborhood daredevil and my grandmother, to my mother's horror bought me a skateboard in 1965, the old fashioned kind that was 3 inches wide and inflexible with metal roller skate wheels. She also bought me a pogo stick, another mom no no.
The hills around here are incredibly steep and winding and back then were full of potholes, but hardly any traffic. All of the kids in the area used to come and run behind me to watch these death defying feats. they wouldn't even ride their bikes down some of these hills.
my brother who was 3 years older than me would always follow and try to match my antics. There is a hill here called mile hill because of it's length. It was the worse maintained road in the area. whole sections of it were caved in. it was my ultimate goal to master that hill. when I did of course he had to try. we went down it together and right near the bottom, his skateboard wheels broke on one of the potholes and he went head over heels across the guy wire down the bank & into the creek, just missing a sharp rock outcropping.
He broke a leg and an arm. He was always breaking something trying to match my feats. I never broke anything. i heard my parents arguing as my mom demanded that my dad confiscate the skateboards. I was so bad that I snuck out and hid mine in a fort that I had built in the woods behind the house. when my dad demanded it's presence, i refused to divulge it's whereabouts and got a spanking and had to spend the summer indoors. The first day after school i retrieved my baby and redid the mile hill

The exercize bike arrived and it is a lot harder than riding a bike!!!! My arms feel like they are going to fall off and I only rode the darned thing for 15 minutes. I really like it. It has wind resistance and fans you while you ride. The harder and faster you ride, the harder it becomes to pedal both the arms and the handles. My right arm is really worn out.
This is the one that I got. It took Larry a while to put it together. I bought it used, but it looks brand new except the handle grips are a bit worn out. It came with a nice seat cover too. People say they ride these every day for 25 years and never have problems with them. I haven't figured out the computer on it yet.

Looks cool. I like the whole body idea, thats what I like about the rowing machine. I haven't really used any of the nordic track kind of things.
I still like my Power class though. I hope the weighted workout is good for my bones.

It certainly should be. Those nordic trac things are hard to work. I used to try them at the spa. I was skiing then too and still found them hard to control. I like rowing machines too, but don't have room for one.

Stormy! Keep at it!
They have something similar to them at my gym. I've never tried them but they are pretty popular

Good going Stormy, I am hoping to walk a full 1/2 Marathon this year. Last year Deb and I did a relay she did the first half and I did the second half. I haven't started a walking program figure I am getting enough walking done at work for now but I will have to start a routine soon.

Well, I did get the bike up to 20 minutes today, but I also rode it two times today for 20 minutes each. It's down in the basement here where I have not hooked up a TV. Maybe I can do that this week. I used to always turn on an episode of one of my favorite shows and ride the bike for the duration of it. That would keep me on the bike for at least 45 minutes and make the time fly instead of concentrating on the amount of time left still to ride..
