It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Internet connection is giving me fits this morning and I'm trying to view all these great photos! Grumbling

At some point I hope to post a 'travel log' of our trip to Belize but here's a couple until I do. A friend bought one of these for us after our return, the National Flower of Belize, the Black Orchid (Encyclia cochleatum). I was able to keep it alive for about three years and it bloomed regularly but I finally lost it several years ago. Sad

I was intrigued with their Ceiba trees, the texture of the bark reminded me of elephants! Hilarious!

I thought this Sunrise shot at the last leg of our trip, Ambergris Caye would work for the cover of
a photo album of all our trip photos but I still haven't put one together! Whistling

I have a hard time with macro shots as well, even with the VR (Vibration Reduction) on my camera I still don't seem to be able to hold the camera steady enough. I'll have to try the trick with holding your breath and snapping on the "exhale"!

I have an equally hard time taking "night photos". Well...actually this one would have been "early morning" on my quick trip to LL Bean while in Maine and everyone else was still sleeping! Hilarious! This is the headquarters of DeLorme in Yarmouth, Maine, the company who publishes all the State Atlas and Gazetteers. http://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DELibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?sect... I'm not sure if the photo was blurry because I couldn't keep the camera steady or if it was the fact that my fingers were frozen from the near zero temperatures! Blinking

Wow, Ronnie - the last one in the series of three is an amazing shot - very surreal.

Gorgeous shots of Belize! *sigh*

Very beautiful photos everyone. If i' take a really good picture it's purely by accident! Love the buildings Ronnie, which of course, I recognize.

I love that elephant's foot too Deb!

Those are all great shots Ronnie and Debbie! Debbie, I especially like the one of DeLorme at night!

For the first time, I tried my hand at night shooting the memorials in Washigton DC. This was the only one I liked... this is looking at Lincoln's Memorial from accross the WW2 Memorial.

Karen, That photo is wonderful! What a great story it tells. I think that the tourist makes it particularly interesting.

Ronnie, That sign is hilarious! Do you know what state that is located in?

It's right here in good old PA. It's off of old route 22 near Kutztown, Fogelsburg are. I don't know the exact name of the town we were driving through...we often go off the beaten path. I happen to like witches so it caught my eye Thumbs up I played around with it in PS to give it a spooky kind of look.

Gosh, I love that Karen!

Ronnie, I was thinking that was probably a fairly local shot. Pa is full of lots of neat names like that, but that one is quite good!
