Oh my goodness! Once again, I am humbled and amazed at the outpouring of support from my friends and even from those I've barely bumped into online. What a remarkable gift, to head into the surgical phase of my treatment knowing all of you have me in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you.

We had a wonderful beach vacation, tucked into the time between my last chemo session and tomorrow's surgery. I'm rested and restored and ready to go!

I've been busy since yesterday with various pre-op tests and procedures. I'm waiting now for a "green light" call from the surgeon after he looks at yesterday's blood counts (my red cells were down a little from last week, but hopefully they're not below his comfort threshold for proceeding with surgery).

My folks will be in Baltimore with us also, helping to take care of Joyanna and keeping us company. I think the mastectomy should only be an hour or so, and then of course I'll be in recovery a couple of hours. I'll have my laptop, so hopefully Jim or I will be able to check in tomorrow afternoon. If not, remember that no news is good news!

I'm having the surgery in the outpatient center, but I'll be staying overnight in the main hospital... those facilities are several blocks apart on the map, so I was curious enough to ask how that would work. They said the buildings are connected underground, so now I am envisioning being trundled along on a gurney through steam tunnels!

Jill - I will be joining the vast crowd of people standing shoulder to
shoulder in spirit with you, even through a steam tunnel if necessary!
I know you are surrounded by angels and that the hands of your
medical team are divinely guided in every moment. ♥

All our prayers are with you in this very crucial time
You have so many friends now that you have met on line.
All with prayers, and good thoughts, that things will be OK
Just take it slow and easy, and have a lazy day.
Just know that we will be there, in spirit by your side
To help you through tomorrow, Gods hand will be your guide.

Best wishes

I just got the "green light" call from the surgical nurse, so we are good to go tomorrow morning!

Rotten weather (rainy & cold), so we won't be strolling around the inner harbor this evening... I think we'll have dinner together here, then Jim & I will head into Baltimore while my folks stay here with Joyanna.

Thank you all!
