SO HAPPY to hear the news...
passed it on to facebook friends who have her in their thoughts and hearts today, too...
one lives near her and offered any help he could give....
Love you, Jill! Keep up the good work! What else can you do?
I stopped in at our local Safeway this morning and everywhere there were pink balloons and all the employees were wearing pink tee shirts and everyone I saw check out made at least a small donation to finding a cure! Sure made me smile.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
Wow! All these friends wearing pink (even Charley!), burning candles, and posting the most beautiful photos while keeping me in prayer today... Once again, I find myself amazed and humbled... I am so fortunate to have all of you in my corner in this fight!
Jim headed back to Frederick a little while ago so he can tuck Joyanna into bed tonight. I just talked to my folks again, and it sounds like she had a wonderful day with them! You know how it is -- as long as I know she is OK, then I am OK!
I was down in the recovery area until mid-afternoon, not because I wasn't doing well but just because they were waiting for a bed to free up for me. So by the time I got up here, I was doing pretty well. I'm having some pain, of course, but we're managing it pretty well, and I know not to be a "hero" and try to tough it out.
Both surgeons seemed pleased after this morning's procedures. You always know more and more certainly after the pathology is done, but we're hopeful that we got clean margins on the skin that was removed, and he didn't have to go into the chest muscle, so that's really good also. The resident working with my plastic surgeon talked to Jim right after the surgery and said they had excellent results installing the tissue expander. They were even able to begin inflating it with saline, so there's a small breast-like shape on my left side! Amazing.
I appreciated all the extra prayers today! It seems there was a glitch with my blood pressure dropping during surgery, and then the meds they gave me to make it go up continued to make it go waaay up in the afternoon... not so good, but no harm done, and now it's stabilizing. Prayer works!
I was fairly alert earlier while Jim was here, but now I'm fading.. just tired. I've found a nice channel on the TV with serene nature scenes and soft music playing, very relaxing.
Fantastic that you're feeling well enough to post, Jill----sleep well (or as well as you can while the hospital staff is waking you up all night.....!)
Woo-hoooo!!!!! Great news Jill! Get some rest.... you deserve after your day! So thankful you have done so well! Wishing you the speediest recovery ever!
Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith?
So glad to hear that it all went smoothly. I'm holding you in my thoughts as well and whole, with the cleanest margins possible and your baby girl in your arms.
