That's really strange Allison. It seems like there was Halloween stuff out in Walmart in July. We stopped into a dollar store that I had never seen tonight and they had some nice Halloween things. Can't beat the price!

I think these at Joann's might be more expensive

Good, you should add that to your list of places to check out. They really put deep sales on their holiday and gardening things. They have a nice assortment of craft supplies too, including baking. Watch online for their coupons too. They often have 40% and 50% ones. Thumbs up They do get very cute gardening art and nice holiday decor and supplies. Right now they are having a sale on most of their Wilton things.

They had some cute ideas in there Linda. That cheeseburger pumpkin cracked me up. Hilarious!

Allison, Do you go to A.C.Moore at all? I was looking at these cute little Monster Mallows.

Linda, I was over on DG and saw and voted for one of your baked goods recipes using pumpkin. Then I went back to try to copy it and couldn't find it. Sad

Pumpkin raisin cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup solid pack pumpkin puree
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts/optional
1 cup raisins/optional

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a medium bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until smooth. Add the egg, and vanilla; mix until fluffy. Stir in the pumpkin. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon; stir into the pumpkin mixture. Finally, stir in the raisins and walnuts.
Drop cookie dough by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, cookies should be light brown around the edges.

These are good with or with out the raisins and nuts.

Good! I am going to make a small batch and try them before I make them for a party. Isn't that crazy on DG when you vote for something then your access to see it disappears? Seemed silly to me.
