stormy, Paul is on American Idol this season ![]() ![]() ![]() "If you bring joy and enthusiasm to everything you do, people will think you're crazy" W. Haelfeli, New Yorker cartoon |

Thanks, Sal.I sort of gathered that. Even if I wanted to check it out, I don't think DSO would go for it. I have a hard enough time getting him to tolerate a ball game or two, not to mention the playoffs and World Series. ![]() |

OH STORMY!...but AI is fun! Even Zuzu plays! Here's Paul! I've wanted to climb him from day one! Not his best poerformance here but you gotta' love the suit! This guy was born laughing I think...some odd mix of Rod Stewart, Mic Jagger and who knows ![]() ![]() ![]() Woman on the eastbound train ...........................................Je Suis Désolé. I lost this thread and couldn't find it anywhere. How did we get onto music in this thread??? ![]() Jae, yes he does have a million watt smile. That performance left me flat though. Rock & Hard Rock never came with a lot of smiles. There was a lot of anger & rebellion in it. I found that distracting. I think Bon Jovi was the first smiling rocker. I'd have to see some of his other performances to better judge him. |

Actually, they get forced into working from pre-specified song lists and 'themes' highlighted each week. I posted that one because of your shoes! You're right, we're way OT on this thread...but one more...See if you like this better...this guy is magic, knows the punch line to every scenario: Now tell me you weren't smilin' ![]() Woman on the eastbound train ...........................................Je Suis Désolé. Sorry, Jae. Guess he's just not my flavor. I find him pedestrian. No soul at all, just showmanship. Nowhere near the talent of Joe Cocker, Not even 10% of his. He didn't make either song uniquely his own, nor did he write either of them. He's just a good lounge act as far as I can see. There's nothing wrong with that, but I doubt anyone will be buying his recordings 50 years later. With Mick Jagger, I knew the first time that I saw him sing his first number, that he would become a legend with or without the Stones. The same was true of Joe Cocker and Eric Burdon. They both always did cover songs, but their renditions were unmistakably their own. |

Oh...I think we will see Paul for a while to come, he's a baby yet. Yep, I saw Mic live in Chicago (Rosemont) in the mid 80s...he came out over and almost into the audience on a big ole crane......amazing showperson. Wow that is really cool Allison ![]() It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give... |
