It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Centipedes eat roaches (AND spiders). They are cute because they are so shy....I have never had any appear further upstairs though then on the wall up the stairs from the basement. Now and again I even speak to one.

Bright and pretty pair of pics.
THat bug looks a bit like a Milkweed bug which is a Lygaeidae (sp?) seed bug, but I don't wuite think the color pattern matches my recall of Milkweed bugs.

We use to have a poster over on Gardenbuddies for a short time that took the most incredible bug shots. His name was ScottP from PA and had an awesome lens. He doesn't post anymore but here is a link to some of his insect portraits. Incredible, incredible shots. GB will let you see a couple of pages but will then ask you to register because of server problems EJ had in the past. It doesn't cost anything and its a nice international site. No advertising either.
I bought a perennial fennel yesterday from Atlock Farm because it was infested with a caterpillar. I'll try to get a shot tomorrow and maybe someone here can identify it.
