well sorry I haven't posted much been very busy getting things wrapped up... still have to do the cobwebs & a bunch of small things.. we were waiting to see when the rain would be done.. just wrecks the nice webs we put up... looks like it might have to wait until friday
but I built this guy.. $4.00 christmas tree skull painted with this fancy black light paint called wildfire... and some cheesecloth dipped in the same paint thinned with water & clear acrylic .. Randy is going to hook one of the motors we have to it.. should be floating in our tree by friday.. once I started putting it together I realized I wanted more cloth.. and didn't have anymore painted.. so I broke out a can of green florescent spray paint and did another piece.. will have to touch up some of the white spots but I am not too worried about it
oh it's been amazing how many new neighbors I met this weekend.. people who have never come to visit us before ... must be 3 couples just yesterday afternoon.. with a bunch of kids the one guy was hiking in the woods and just happened to come out on our street.. he had no idea we did all this and is now changing his trick or treating route with his kids

A Christmas tree skull?? What???? It does look great Allison! Great thinking on that paint! Are you still going to be spraying webs on the day of the party??
Have you started on the music and light programming yet?
I decided to spray webs tomorrow for the judging on wed even though they will have to be fixed for halloween anyway.. just not going to go crazy... and yes The Christmas Tree Shop.. skull... should have explained that one.. just assumes everyone one knows christmas tree ... the lights and music have been on for a few weeks now... I have a plastic cover over the dancing skulls on the days it rains.. but they are out as well.. wish we could make a clear cover for it so you can still see them moving when it rains.. will have to try that for next year.. plexiglass or something maybe .. thought this was too cute
oh I bought a latex skeleton from this place on amazon.. the box came all messed up.. and a tear in the arm of the guy.. they are shipping me a new one and told me to keep the damaged one .. gotta love that.. you know I will fix it and have 2 then!!
Much better to think you'll have 2 latex skeletons at $30 each... whatta deal!
I was wondering what made it a "christmas tree skull" also... thanks for explaining!
Joyanna's costume keeps getting more complex... LOL... she didn't want to wear the witch's hat, said the black & gold dress with stars all over it was a "star princess" outfit. OK. But before we knew the dress fit (hand-me-down from my niece), we'd gotten magenta butterfly wings, and she thought she'd like to wear them also. I said maybe she could be a Star Fairy or a Fairy Princess... she said "Star Fairy Princess." Then this morning she said her costume would be "Butterfly Princess," and what do you know, I found these big sparkly pink clip-on butterflies on the new Christmas shelf at Walmart, 97 cents each. Maybe one in her hair and one on a stick for a wand/scepter? or maybe we'll find a tiara for her at the dollar store.
Anyway, wanted to mention that WalMart does have some neat costume pieces... picked up a couple extras just for "dress up" -- tutu and leotard, both very sparkly. Sparkles are good.
must have sparkles!!!.. I will be sure to post any good after sales for dress up Critter.. can't beat the prices after .. or some the day of
the towns contest is tonight.. they will be soggy with drizzle don't think we are putting out any animated things to get wet.. they always seem to pick a bad day.. too bad they didn't come around last night.. was chilly but nice.. but Randy has those new guys he made that one of them does move and has a christmas deer motor that is usually pretty water resistant .. so I think he can go out.. too bad we didn't use more of those.. oh well.. always next year

Good luck Allison

I sure came late to this spooky thread.
Cat videos sure were cute.
Allison. I just loved those Black Eyed Susies. They were really inventive I might just make a few of those myself.. I have wanted to try my hand at making gravestones too. Yours turned out really nice as did everything you make. Good luck on the judging tonight. Can't wait to see the whole yard.
Thursday is trick or treat for most of our area. I am going to Jen's house to help give out treats as her DH will be working late so she needs an extra hand to man the door while she takes her children around. We hardly get any children at our house but Ric will be here just in case we get a few. Josh's T or T night is always on Halloween night and I love going there for the evening it is so much fun but this year I will be away on my dive trip.
thank you.. we had a blast tonight.. getting everything ready and having people come visit.. heard some good comments too!!
if you want to make real easy tombstones.. use pink insulation foam... hot styrofoam knife.. and stone spray paint.. can't loose!!!.. the tufa ones were easy.. but I can't see us trying to store 20 of the things it is kinda sorta heavy... although I did make a huge one.. of course I am uploading a video now.. but had to use the iphone.. didn't realize the camera was dead.. charging now to take good video over the weekend
