As the lilies continue to dazzle us with their summer show, the daylilies are beginning to come into their peak bloom season here in the Mid-Atlantic. For those of you in warmer or colder zones, obviously you are either ahead or behind us, but wherever you are, please share photos of your blooms here! Wow, Barb!! What a bevy of beauties!! ![]() I love that Prester John & Mauna loa, Jambalaya and Charles Johnston. Bahama Butterscotch is really pretty too. For some reason, I've had much more luck with daylilies turning out to be the correct ones that I've ordered or purchased than Iris. I seem to have an inordinate amount of mislabeled Iris. Thank you so much for bringing us these lovely blooms!! ![]() |
|

Oh Barb what beauties you have ![]() ![]() It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give... |

Beautiful Daylilies, Barb. Are any of these re-bloomers? Usually, such pretty ones, are not. |

You're very welcome, ladies! Let's see some of your photos too, OK?! ![]() Stormy, I don't usually like double flowers in general, but "Prester John" is such a great color, and is very striking in the garden. I've had some mis-labeled daylilies, but most of them have come from either friends (my daylily enabler buddy brought me my first daylily, saying I HAD to have it because it was named "Barbara". That is a photo of it as my avatar. Problem is, she'd dug up "Catherine Woodbery" by mistake. When I told her what a pretty pink it was, she knew she'd goofed. ![]() Ronnie, when we bought this house in 1985, it had (of course) a bunch of ditch lilies, and a nice stand of a pretty NoID yellow, which I had as a mass planting out back for years. I'm trying to remember when that friend came to visit with her gift... probably about 15 or so years ago? And like you, it's VERY hard for me to pick a favorite. ![]() Teri, I don't have too many that reliably rebloom. Many are advertised as rebloomers, but for whatever reason it doesn't usually happen, so I don't count on it. "Sunny Honey", "Siloam June Bug" and "Prairie Blossoms" will send up a few scapes later in the season. ![]() Breathe in, Breathe out...Move on - Jimmy Buffett |

Jen, not that you would notice. I'll have to go sniffing tomorrow! ![]() Love your photos! I also have Love Those Eyes and Ruffled Apricot. Both are great bloomers, and LTE really stands out in the garden. ![]() I've got lots in the "Candy" series, but somehow I've missed getting Rainbow Candy - very pretty! ![]() Breathe in, Breathe out...Move on - Jimmy Buffett |
