Thank goodness that my DH drinks lots of milk by the gallon so that I have plenty of winter sow containers. So far I have put 25 containers out (5 were take out dishes). My house is starting to look like a greenhouse. Just put Onewish's dill seeds in a pot near the great room window. She knows that I have never been successful growing dill, but we'll see.
I have put lots of seeds under lights in my basement. I don't know where I'll put them all when they get transplanted. I think that I should have planned a railroad room type of house with all the windows having southern exposure to alleviate the problem.
Just put Stormy's Lobelia Queen Victoria and Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy in paper cups in the tiny bowls that I bought from the great auction that we have about 2 miles away. People bid on boxes of stuff and for 2 dollars I bought a box with 1 dozen little bowls that fit exactly on my dining room window sill (southern exposure). In the box was also a thermos pitcher, a beautiful tall copper/brass carafe "thing" that will make a great garden object, 2 glass bowls, an old electric knife/tool sharpener for the garage (needed restoration by my DH, and a wonderful Japanese inspired plaque that I will find a spot for.
I also bought 4 great deck chairs for &7.00 each!!

I started my Petunia seeds yesterday, Avalanche Red, Avalanche White and Salmon Velvet. They are on a heat mat and I have the dome on flat, love the smell of warm seed starting mix.
I'll post a picture when they gerninate.
Debbie, keeping my finger crossed that all goes well. Nothing like putting a spark to a young gardener.

He loves gardening...so he said he wants to see what the difference is in how long it takes for different plants to start growing and their growth rate after they are started. For only 6 he is pretty smart...these are also going to be for his veggie garden...he loves veggies:) I will post pics and all once it gets started.
