Aldi has started carrying Greek Yogurt now. The brand name is Friendly Farms. I tried the blueberry one. It was every bit as good as the Chobani. The price was $.69 compared to $1.+ for the Chobani.
I had some kids coming over and needed snack foods for them. I tried Aldi's version of Cheesits. They were great at $1.49 a box. They also had packs of a dozen glazed yeast donuts for $1.99 in the freezer case. They were so soft and fresh and some of the better ones that I've tried. I had to hide them from DSO when the kids left.
Their 12 grain sliced sandwich bread is a bit softer than what I prefer, but at less than $2 a loaf, I keep buying it as the supermarket breads at $3.50 are just too outrageous in price. Aldi continues to have the best prices on celery, broccoli and mushrooms.
I also bought their Pecan Sandies cookies for the kids. Those were really yummie and were $1.69. They had better flavor and texture than the Nabisco or Keebler ones. Another item to hide from DSO.

Well, I am back with another review of the bargains to be found at Aldi. This week I tried their Priano Brand of frozen stuffed pasta shells. They were stuffed with Ricotta and came about a dozen to the bag which cost just under $2.
Now I have always been a snob about tomato sauce and have always made my own from fresh tomatoes and frozen it. Well, I have none now. Usually I would then buy some frozen sauce, but Aldi doesn't carry any. So I had bought a 24oz jar of their Reggiano brand sauce for $.99. The ingredients in the sauce were tomatoes, oil, sugar and spices plus a preservative. The sauce was actually delicious if only just a tad too sweet for my tastes, but not enough to make it unpleasant.
This was a very nice meal for 2 people for $1.50 each. I accompanied it with a baby spinach salad from Aldi for $.75 each, and a small loaf of rustic bread on the marked down breads at a local super market for $1 each. Not bad for $3.25 each.

You really should Teri! Oh and two weeks ago I picked up a bag of their giant corn chips, the kind like Frito's Scoopers. There were $.99 a bag and tasted almost exactly like the Frito brand. The ingredients in them were corn, oil & salt.
Aldi owns Trader Joe's too. Gotta get over there today.
ok Stormy.. I got brave today... bought some breakfast bars, your corn chips, a bunch of cheeses, a couple of yogurts, some of the frozen perogies, pasta sauce, breakfast sandwiches for Randy, and a butterball turkey for the party.. have to say the root beer is very good.. and Randy likes the grape soda.. I couldn't pass up the white bread for 89 cents either

Good Allison!! I went there today and spent $97. I was thrilled to see that they have started carrying Lifeway Keffir. This time I bought the frozen manicotti to try.
You guys will laugh at this. I am trying to break Larry of his candy habit, as per his doctor's orders, so I bought him two boxes of their fit and lean chewey fruit strips that are similar to a kid's fruit roll up, but have a much higher fruit content than those. My Aldi was out of the big corn chips today.
I bought their version of triscuts that I tried before and liked and also a box of their version of the wheat Bretons which I also liked. I've had those breakfast sandwiches Allison, they are yummie! I saw those turkeys and was wishing I could use one.
I bought fresh cranberries, frozen blueberries, mushrooms, pears, grapes, that German coffee, onions, broccoli, baby spinach, eggs, apples, oranges, the gourmet lettuces mix, carrots, cheeses, sour cream, butter, applesauce, puddings, tuna, flour, broths, canned salmon, olives, dried beans, split peas and a bunch of other stuff. I'm still working on clearing out the older stuff from the freezer so bought almost nothing to go in there. I bought their 12 grain bread.
We are boycotting cookies and treats in this house right now. I'll buy or make some if company is coming.

I stopped at Marshalls yesterday. They had 2.5 lb bags of whole bean Starbucks coffee for $7.99. I bought a bag of Sumatra and one of French Roast. That is $16 for 5 lbs of coffee!!! You can't even get two pounds of coffee for that price at the Starbuck's stores.
Sumatra is one of my favorites. I got the same deal at the Marshall's in Budd Lake, NJ. I stopped in at a Home Goods while I was there. I fell in love with a mirror for over the fireplace. My painting of "The Hunt" faded out from the sun because we have no window covers on the upper windows in the great room. The beautiful red jackets are shades of black and gray like everything else in the picture. Looks more like a charcoal now.
The mirror is 4 feet wide and 5 feet tall. All beveled glass with antique brass holding in the different sized side pieces and a viney leafy thing at the top. I love it but I am afraid of it too. Maybe it will be sold the next time I check it out and my problem will be solved. The prices on their mirrors are unbelievably inexpensive compared to other stores.

Yes, They do have great prices on mirrors and lamps as well. Sorry to hear about your painting Teri. Are you afraid of the mirror falling and hurting someone?
