A few weeks back Jill was mentioning Tuna specially made for Kitties. When I was at Trader Joe's yesterday, they had cans of it for $.47. That's even cheaper than Aldi sells their same size people tuna cans.
TJ's also have the bags of 4 Haas avocados for $3.49 once again. That is the first time in 6 months that I have seen them anywhere for less than $1.49 each.

Does anyone have one of those Bottom Dollar food stores near them?

They have several things that I am interested in, but I was hoping that someone had some experience dealing with them. They have a lot of good prices on things. Teri shops a lot online, maybe she has used them. Yes, I thought that item would intrigue you, Allison. Smiling

Allison, are there any Boscov's up near you? That is a chain of department stores from Pottstown Pa. They always have the greatest buys. Their website always has good deals too. Both in the stores and on the website, they have an entire room of "as seen on TV" stuff.

Last year I bought a bunch of Jones New York sportswear from them cheaper than what the outlet sells it for, even when they have a sale. I also got Merino wool sweaters from them for $21.Their housewares dept is great too and they by far have the best curtain and bathroom/kitchen rug selection anywhere. Thumbs up

Good Teri, I wasn't sure whether they had any stores that far north. They have even more bargains online than in the stores. Smiling

This Herbergers is a mystery. The site is huge.

I love shopping at the Boscov's store at Christmas. They always have the best selection and sales in their lingerie dept on intimates, PJ's, Robes and Cuddl Duds. They have an unbelievable selection and sales on gloves, purses, scarves, hats, slippers and childrens's PJ's and clothes as well as the sports team's jerseys and such. The toy department and housewares are great too.

Also, if you spend $50, they will wrap all of your presents for free. That alone is worth the trip there. I usually spend 40 minutes there while they wrap all of my stuff. It saves me buying all of that wrap and boxes and sure helps keep the back from aching. Thumbs up

the only one I know if is in Nanuet, NY or maybe it's Spring Valley.. but it's near the Nanuet Bakery.. we go up there now and then to pick up bagels and some good bread .. they come right out of the oven and you can almost burn yourself on the bagels they are sooooo good too.. they set all the bread out on cooling racks and you just go browse and take what you want and bag it yourself

Allison are you talking about the Rockland Bakery in Nanuet. That place is great. Try the Cranberry nut dinner rolls. There is also a Freihofer's - Entenmann's outlet store nearby.

yes that's it Bob!!.. love that place!!!!!!!... Randy and I went up last fall.. and went to an apple farm that Victor told us about.. great pies there!!.. will have to get the name off my gps for you.. but it was like 15 - 20 mins from the bakery... my mom & I used to go to the christmas tree shop up there before we had any local ones here.. and her and her friends found the bakery.. Randy loves the black & white cookies and the last time we were there they had pretzel shaped bagels with salt on them.. HOLY COW.. crispy all over and just a small amount of soft inside.. where is the cream cheese????.... I know I know the combo will kill me... but boy was it good!!! ... I didn't even get 5 mins from the place and started ripping warm pieces off Rolling on the floor laughing

That's true, Stormy. We don't have to much retail selection of anything nearby, but we do have a private home that is part retail bakery and the ladies in there make a mouth watering variety of baked goods. We can also finally enjoy good pizza since a franchise type pizza place burned down and some Italian brothers opened it up with pizza from wood burning brick ovens. What a difference!!

For simple stuff I go to Stroudsburg. When I really shop, I go back to Paramus in Bergen County, NJ.....Routes 4 and 17 intersect and have every imaginable store.

OK Teri, Have to show you what i bought at the thrift shop today for $10. It's about 4' tall and almost 3' wide. The frame is some sort of a bronzed pewter color. Someone sprayed something around the edges of the mirror which Larry will remove.

This is either going home with my niece at Thanksgiving or will live in my basement. I just can't go over there to make a donation without coming home with something. Blinking

It's "Free Ship Friday," and you can check this site to find lists of participating online retailers: http://www.freeshippingday.com/home-garden/

Note that there are minimum purchases for some (Gardener's Supply is free shipping with a $75+ order, for instance), while others are free shippign for any order. :-)
