Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith?
I'm not much of a photographer, but my husband discovered these little fuzzies while pruning our rose bush this weekend. They look brand new, not even fluffy yet!
Well, I woke up to an empty nest a couple days ago, sure that a predator got the babies. But much to my surprise, this little fellow was sitting on my cucumber trellis this morning.
He can't fly yet, and mom was still screaming at me from the tree above. Not sure if any of his siblings made it, but I'm happy for even one baby after I thought they were all lost.
So glad it all went well! I've had two nests (one Cardinals, one Carolina Wren) empty awfully quickly (at least it seemed to me) so this gives me hope that it all went as it should have...
Here's a picture I took of the Wren's nest the day I discovered it in the empty plastic pot - there were 6 or 7 eggs in there! However, about 3 days later, there was nothing, no damage, no "detritus", nothing. I doubt it ended well, but I wonder what happened...
my mom has been having a hard time keeping her dog away from the fallen eggs off her roof... guess anything could have gotten them... what a bummer.. neat shots!!
