Stormy, that tree is only part dead. It's the neighbor's. Probably more dead than alive. It creaks and moans in the wind.
Sally, I know not what kind of birds they are.

That was great Allison
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...
Allison, those are fabulous photos, and the website looks really neat too. I'd be thinking one photo was my favorite, then I'd scroll down to the next one, and behold, a new favorite. Thanks so much for sharing this!

A few from the feeder today. Not the clearest shots, they are all through the glass.

They are terrible buggars here! We live on the third floor and our balcony is 40 feet up, facing the woods. That is why we draw in so many different birds. But I guess it is why we draw in the squirrels too. We have tried two different "squirrel-proof" feeders this year, and they can get in both of them. They are even opening up the suet cages and stealing whole blocks of suet!
Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Instead of running after perfection, why not simply walk in faith?

At one point yesterday there was at least 15 of them in the yard and 3 and 4 at a time at the seed. I have a large open hopper style feeder and it's like a buffet to them. Tried all the tricks, like pepper, smelly sprays that kind of stuff but they soon catch on that it won't hurt them
