Shiny? hmm. Mine seem sort of silvery... not sure if we're pulling the same ones, LOL. Lots of little mulberry seedlings here with serrated leaves, also... trying to get them up while they're 4 inches tall with 8 inch taproots rather than waiting until that root goes really deep!

I just got a big rhodi (3 gallon pot at least, maybe 5?) at Home Depot for $24, just the variety ('Royal Purple') I'd been drooling over at Dutch Plant Farms for $40. Got a nice vigorous clematis ('Snow Queen') for $12, too... not a super-bargain, but nice prices on plants that really (honestly!) were on my "list." Rolling my eyes.

Sorry, Allison, I can't help with either, but I guess the mystery will be solved if they bloom. I've grown both, but never had them overwinter, or self-seed.

Hurray! Wow, Jill, sounds like you got some great deals there. Well done. Big Grin

This is my first year ordering from Santa Rosa, and I appreciate why some of you are such fans! Great plants, and they really go the extra mile with customer service. Thanks!

Thanks for posting that, Bob! We've got to get some more pre-orders so we can get all those new varieties -- doubles, speckles, picotee edges, OH MY.

MamaJ just posted a thread... end of season sale on Badseed's coleus, just $1.50 each (plus shipping). !!!

She sends nicely rooted little plants, quite likely big enough to pinch extra starts from their tops, and her packing is top notch... I ordered from Badseed in a major heatwave last June, and all the plants arrived in fine shape.

forgot the link... http://cubits.org/notfortheserious/thread/view/69636/

Thanks Bob, wish they did that here Big Grin
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

I agree That would be one-stop shopping for sure!!! Our closest Lowe's is at least 30 minutes away, and through a lot of traffic, while we have 3 HDs within 5 minutes. Go figure... Confused

Bill is having his Caladium sale again. Biggest bullbs I've ever seen in past years.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1265034/

I'd like to choose at least 4 varieties, but I don't need 10 of each. Anyone want to split an order? I'll either bring them to a swap or have a little get together here again in spring.
