I can't say I've come across it but I've seen a lot of bird art at Home Goods that has tempted me. Very cute - you should take a picture of it once its in its new home.

Loretta, Oooh - I love Home Goods, and have you checked out Kirkland's if you have one in your area? I've found all sorts of fun little odds and ends there too.

Jill, Kinsman has a nice metal arch on sale this weekend: http://www.kinsmangarden.com/product/681

However, I think you still have to pay shipping on it. Boy, do I wish they had a retail location - Pennsylvania's not that far away Whistling Hmmm, actually I just checked their shipping costs, and it's well under the cost of what gas would be to get there, so... Big Grin

I missed a "free shipping" weekend from Kinsman because it was just before the Philly show, and I really thought I'd be able to find an arch there... but I guess I didn't go down the right vendor aisle.

Jill, I had been sort of looking for a simple arch, and didn't see any at Philadelphia, so don't worry that you missed "The Deal" there. Smiling

There was a metalworker there 2 years ago, and I don't think I saw them this year... will have to check to see if I can dig up a business card for them, as it seems to me they were kinda sorta local-ish LOL.

I just got another e-mail from Kinsman Garden Company (http://www.kinsmangarden.com/) saying they're having FREE SHIPPING again this weekend. Here are the details:

Enter PROMO CODE KCFFMAY and your shipping will be FREE.

Free shipping starts NOW and expires Monday, May 21 at midnight

More verbiage: Please enter KCFFMAY in the Promo Code Box (located above the items in your Shopping Basket) - and when the Total is calculated, Shipping will register $0.00. Once you have correctly entered the code KCFFMAY in the Promo Code space, the following message must appear:

Your promo code is: KCFFMAY (FREE SHIPPING PROMO).

If it does not appear, please call 1-800-733-4129 for assistance between

Hurry! This Free Shipping offer only works from now through Monday May 21, 2012

Maybe this isn't quite as rare as they'd have us believe, but it's still a good deal. Whistling

I did get the e mail from Swan Island and ordered 4 of my favorites only. I try to limit how many bulbs and tubers that need to be lifted in the fall.

wow is that cool.. I can say the EE's I had planted rotted out even with the mild winter.. dug one up yesterday.. ICK

but there is something growing in one of my containers that looks familiar .. but I am not sue what it is.. not one of the usual suspects though.. the petunias that self seed & agastache babies I can always spot.. not sure what this one is though.. going to let it go for a bit longer.. and hope it's not a weed Rolling on the floor laughing

I was also surprised to see that my EEs overwintered in the wine barrel planter, but the BIGGEST surprise was seeing the asparagus fern coming back up! That has never happened!!! Blinking

I placed an order with B&B on Friday, and it arrived yesterday. Nice when this happens so quickly!

I've dug dahlias up in the past and none have ever survived, so I just treat them as annuals. Sigh.

I finally overwintered my Dahlias with these instructions. Dig them up. Clean them off. Let them dry out a little. Wrap them in newspaper. Tie each clump into a plastic bag. It worked! It really did. No mushy ones. No dried up dead stuff!!

Can't help with the cuphea, but that second post does look like calibrachoa... you'll know when they bloom! Neither looks like any weed in my yard, but that serrated-leaf one in a couple of the planters might be a weed, one of those I don't bother to learn the name of, I just know it when I pull it LOL.

Self-sown volunteers are definitely a bargain!

Good to know about the dahlias, Roses. I'll try again -- got a little short one on the half-off shelf for $3, gave it a trim and a drink and now it's got pretty purple blooms!

There are 2 sales being run in Mamajack's cubit... 35% off at Bayou Blooms, some definite bargains there especially if you get one of the 3 fer discounts also. Richard Dufresne's salvias aren't necessarily bargain-priced, but he has more species than I knew existed and cultivars I've not come across anywhere else (and I read a lot of garden catalogs!).
