I agree Sally, I thought so too, plus it's just a great shot, especially at this time of year, for our sun-starved, frozen gardening souls. Big Grin

Holly, if you have time and feel like doing it, you can ALWAYS post your Phipps pictures here too - this would be the perfect spot:

http://cubits.org/MidAtlanticMusings/thread/view/9515/

I've got bunches of photos from a couple of visits there that I should post too... Whistling Let's talk - maybe we'll have enough that we can have a separate thread just for Phipps, and perhaps Longwood as well? That would make the photos easier to find for those who are interested... Then there's Lewis Ginter Botanic Gardens in Richmond... Whistling

Thanks for the new thread Barb Thumbs up

Last long day of the week for me, my sister had her first chemo treatment today. We needed to be there by 7:30, leaving here at 7:00 It really did go by pretty fast, I was home by 3:30. Next ones won't be as long, she won't have to go over everything again and not as many pre meds.
She did real well and got some good tips from a very nice women who also has OVC. Some things we didn't know to watch for. Some helpful stuff to. Everyone was real nice but so sad to see that all the chairs were filled (15) all day long. That's a lot of people with cancer and that is only one center on one day. Very scary Sad

Wow did it ever get cold...when we left it was a balmy 41 and was down to 32 when we got in the car to come home...so not looking forward to the real cold yet to come Blinking
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

You're welcome, Ronnie! I tip my hat to you.

Glad Beth's first day of chemo went well, all things considered. How nice that she was able to get some insider tips from others who've been there before her. Group hug But I bet it was a sobering sight to realize all those chairs at the infusion center were filled all day long... Like you said, just a drop in the bucket... Sad

It's been really cold here too, and VERY windy. I think the high was something like 36 or 35. It was almost 60 yesterday, for heaven's sake... What's going on with this see-saw pattern lately? Confused

A little story Whistling
Remember Holly's new laundry room with the door from Josh's 1870's house? The one with the reproduction lock set and night latch latch (that has a faulty spring)?
No? Well here's the tale:
After having a frustrating morning of cleaning up after Alfie Angel , who emptied the trash can all over the kitchen floor,(because some scoundrel forgot to take the trash out, after making dinner and removing a few so interesting smelling things from the fridge *Blush* ). Holly decided to wash some of the clean up materials from Alfie's indiscretion. Since he was so interested in his malodorous creation, she pulled the door close to prevent his further assistance. Upon completing her ever so pleasant task she attempted to return to the great room to finish her paused movie and such, only to find she had pulled the door closed with the night latch locked. Blinking Still in her pjs, she had no pocket for her phone. Confused
Well the cur who caused all this days grand events to begin with was out running some errands.

Q. How long can you take to fold a load of laundry and dusting the appliances?
A. Not long enough!!!

It is common knowledge that this unnamed evil can never seem to come directly home from anywhere!.

TWO hours pass...Just wait till that unspeakable gets home! Grumbling

So after greeting the doggie and making another trip to the car I begin to check around for Holly, noting the paused movie and assume she's close by. I go to the utility room to check the stove and glance out back. As I walk over to the back door to look if she's feeding her chicks, I hear her calling me from the laundry. While I'm opening the door I realize she was locked in. She simply says "hours" and gives me a hug. Smiling Wow, I'm lucky I didn't get a kiss, from one of these

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH boy, what a day!!!

I guess with two hours, Holly worked through all the stages of (giving somebody else) grief, all the way to acceptance Hilarious!
Being locked in or out is such a friustration- makes me never want to ever lock anything ever again

Ronnie, I know we all hope Barb does well. Is she feeling OK today? There may be a tiny bit of 'consolation' in seeing that others are dealing with similar problems. It's not just her.

OMG! I sure hope Holly doesn't have a touch of claustrophobia. Blinking I guess it's good it wasn't longer, but I'm sure those two hours probably felt like forever. Thumbs down

I'm sure she'll be keeping her cell phone with her no matter what from now on! Or is that repro lock gonna be fixed or replaced?

Glad it's all over now. Hopefully, Holly will think it's funny...eventually! Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing
