For the past few years you can see a pair of Bald Eagles flying over the lake, ever once in awhile they circle over my house between the 2 lakes.

We have a lot of hawks and some eagles in our area. We aren't far from the Susquehanna River and they are nesting down there. There is a State Park near by as well and a few years ago they started a hawk program. Making piles of brush to provide habit for small rodents. I guess the idea was if there is food they will come. We have a Sharp Shinned Hawk staking out our bird feeders we see him most every day.

I learned to swim in the Susquehanna River at the Island in Harrisburg, PA. We used to love that river. I would love to have an eagle nest nearby to watch. I get goose bumps when I see one of those babies flying. They sure are majestic.

JB, I grew up in Harrisburg and remember the Island beach well. They have made the Island a nice recreation spot. I still don't live that far away from Hbg but now we visit the River a bit south of Hbg, in the Goldsboro area. There is a Hydro electric dam in that area that makes a nice deep lake of the river. Great for all kinds of activity if you don't mind that Three Mile Island is squatting right there on the other side of the river.

Oh we are going to the Harrisburg Flower Show tonight and hopefully I will get a few nice pic's for you to enjoy. It's not a very big show but still fun. This year they have added some Garden Club competition so there will be more than just the big landscaping displays that tend to be mostly hardscape with a few plants thrown in.

Where do they have the Flower Show at the Farm Show Complex? Last time I was there was about 15 years ago when I was working at the week long Standardbred Horse Sale for Perretti Farms in NJ. We also had a horse related gift shop my husband used to set up when I was working the sale. We used to put the house trailer in the parking lot and lived in it while we were there.

I spent a lot of time in Harrisburg as a kid since my Aunt had a big house on the corner of Herr and I forget the name of the street, just one block up from Second. I was working for the County of Lancaster when Three Mile Island had their problem. We used to fish off a big dam in Lancaster County on the Susquehanna...I can not remember the name. The had those big gates they would open, it was fun

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I miss Lancaster County big time. I had so many friends there that most are deceased now, but the memories will always be with me.

Yes, It was beautiful, even if windy. I needed to run a lot of errands today so no yard work, but I did get to walk around the yard and see the new shoots coming up. Thumb of 2014-03-21/HollyAnnS/07a8db

@NJBob, don't get too excited. A Nor'easter is coming next Tues. and it is to be the biggest storm of the season so I just read on
Facebook. Not funny.......time for planting and watching things grow. I am tired of Winter and this one was a real stinker for me. Having said that HAPPY SPRING TO YOU ALL.

Well it was beautiful today and I did get a little yard work done. Due to a little back trouble recently I may be a bit slower getting my gardens in order but each little bit I do makes me happy. Last year I would have been out there all day long, this year I am happy if I can get a half hour of work done before I need to take a rest.

Holly, I know how you feel, frustration is my biggest problem then I get depressed because of arthritis in my hips and back make gardening and even walking at times a real chore. Darn getting old for me is not fun. When I can not walk or garden I am cranky.
You take care of yourself. I go to the Chiropractor and he is helping me alot.

We have been getting freezing rain and sleet all day, started to snow a few hours ago, too. Just a mess out there.
We picked up our plugs on Friday. The Hobby GreenHouse Assoc, does a group buy each year. I have been slowly working on transplanting the Sweet Cream Marigolds all day. There are about 600 of them in an open seeded flat that need to be put into individual cell 6pks. I have about half of them done. I should have had them all done today but I need to rest just over did things a bit the last two days helping unload and organize the flats. So I took my time and will get a few more done yet tonight.
JB, very frustrating I am so happy to be able to walk, stand and sit upright as a month ago I couldn't do any of those things. But I am limited in what I can do. The more I walk or stand the more I hurt and I can't lift much more than 15 pounds. I am not sure that things will get much better than they are right now. It is a wait and see kind of thing.

I will add you to my prayer list, Holly. We both can use all the help we can get. I was just thinking I should take a walk, but the sun is shining and the wind is blowing and it is cold. Also it is so wet from all the rain we had the past two days that Charle, being white mostly, will get really muddy and messy knowing him, so I just decided to wait one more day.
My cell phone died today and now I must get a ride to the Verizon store and get a new phone. It is always some extra expense. My upgrade it not due until May 25th so I will be paying extra I am sure. I can't win some days. Grumbling

Hope you both feel better soon. Arthritis does make gardening a challenge , I have it bad in the knees and shoulder. Ask your doctors about Turmeric ,it works as a natural anti inflammatory and seems to be helping.
The last bit of snow is just about gone, but it is so muddy that I really can not start any garden work yet.

Health food stores have capsule versions of it. I have also been hearing good things about Boswellia, but want to talk to my doctor first to see if it has any side effects or interactions with other medications.
