Carol, I'm not sure specific questions. Things like where the classes are run, were do you do your open water dives. How long has your Diver Master been certified how many dives do they have. But if you check out a couple of places you can get a feel for the different shops. Some shops seem to be more active you will find divers hanging out talking and they have local dive activities. Things going on to get you into the water more often.

Becky might have some suggestions in this area

I love Rodanthe it is a beautiful area, very relaxing. We usually head down that way visit Hatteras and Ocracoke. I love that area where all the kite boarders hand out. Usually spend a little time there watching them. Boy those guys can really get up some speed.
Bodie Island Lighthouse has the nicest little museum, very interesting.
