The most valuable misc tool that I use in the garden are little flags. They come in a package of 25 for about $7. When I take my morning stroll in the garden, I carry a handful of the flags with me. If I see some plant that needs attention or a tough weed that needs digging, or even a new bloom that I want to photograph, I stick a flag in the ground. This really saves me from searching around for something that I knew I wanted to get back to. I

It is helps me to remember the tasks that I need to do.

If there is some treatment that I want to give to a certain type of plant, I'll go locate & flag them all first. This makes it easy to gauge how much treatment I have to go around vs what's needed.
