This is one of my personal favorites of Chris's recipes Irish Soda Bread 4 cups AP flour ½ cup sugar 4 teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt 1 pint sour cream ½ cup buttermilk 2 eggs 2 cups raisins, I mix light & dark together raisins 1.Put dry ingredients in a large bowl. 2.Add raisins and stir to coat. 3.Beat eggs. 4.Add eggs, sour cream and buttermilk. 5.Mix well. 6.Mound on cookie sheet or pizza pan. 7.Mark a cross in the dough. 8.Bake at 350 for 60 – 75 minutes. 9.Test for doneness starting at 45 minutes with a cake tester. 10.(Can halve recipe and make one smaller loaf). ![]() |
