French horn in concert band (also district/regional orchestras and pit orchestra for our high school musicals), tenor sax in jazz band, but they made me march with a flugelhorn -- cheap instrument with a remarkably soggy tone. Grumbling I had a brief stint in the university marching band, playing sousaphone. Now, that's a fun instrument!

Our high school fielded a big marching band... I think we had at least 200 players, plus probably another hundred by the time you added up color guard, majorettes, "rifle" squad, etc.

WTAE announcer for the community day parade:

"Here comes the Plum High Marching Band! They're coming over the hill now... and they're still coming... and they're still coming!!"
