|I'm going to start a new thread with a better header. Meanwhile, here is one of the best sources of free knitting and crochet patterns - the Garn Studio patterns. There are over 2,000 patterns in US patterns. If you click on home, you'll see you can select other patterns in UK English. Just keep in mind that at least in crochet, the stitches aren't the same. I think in the UK, a double crochet is the same as a half double crochet in the US or something like that. Anyway, an American crocheter isn't going to be able to crochet from a UK pattern. I don't know about knitting stitches.
Notice the selection lists on the left as well as the categories on the page. You can look at only knitting patterns, only crochet, etc. Or you can select by men, ladies, babies, holidays, pets, etc. These are some of the most stylish patterns available, unlike some of the American and Canadian yarn companies. They aren't hard patterns to follow either.
