Wow. Sheryl, that is fabulous. You MUST fight the cringe thing and go with the flow. You have talent! What a skillful bunch we are. I have: hand and machine quilted a little sewed clothes and curtians, moderately. cross stitched and embroidered somewhat knitted and crocheted a little And why have and not DO? Like Carolyn--it seemed with little kids it was too hard to keep up. And like stormyla, I can now buy clothes in more extended lengths, cheaper and better than I can make them, and a lot quicker too. And SHeryl, it is hard to have the patience to see those long projects thru! I really like the feel of hand sewing. Drafting cutting and Hand piecing of quilt squares was really fun. But so many hours to complete!!! I have four really good squares I must get framed or something. An awesome mariners compass. is one. Currently I am crocheting some granny squares. My secret mission was to make them and then persuade Mom to go to some craft group with me where she would whipstitch them together (and get some social life) inot a prayer shawl perhaps. . It is a good thing to take to docs offices, I can do it without feeling like I am begin rude to her as I would by reading to myself. Boy I can do about two or three an hour in the emergency room- as long as I am not the patient mind you. Like rcn, I really like rocks. They're just so... Inorganic! Such a contrast to plant life i guess "If you bring joy and enthusiasm to everything you do, people will think you're crazy" W. Haelfeli, New Yorker cartoon |
