| Lots of mud. The last of the dozen obstacles in the race is a mud pit that you have to slither through on your belly, with barbed wire about a foot above it. Just before that you jump through fire. Most of the others are climbing of one sort or another. I don't interview for the teaching positions here - they're open to all grad students in the department, and the faculty decide who will teach what class. My boss always puts my name in for the class that he's in charge of, so I teach it every fall. Usually I don't teach in the spring, but I think I'll have to this year, as my other source of funding has run dry. My boss never specifically said not to dye my hair, but I just felt that it wasn't a good idea to do it mid-semester. I might change my mind in the spring. I've actually been thinking of doing pink next. I used to despise the color, and I'm not at all a girly girl, but I've been liking the idea more and more the last couple years. |
