What part of the boat did you keep them on Carol?

Bit, I would think that maybe you could find an old cabinet on Free Cycle, Craigs List or at a garage sale or flea market that might fit under your crawl space and provide some protection from the cold. If not you could always build one.

I know that at DSO's mountain house if someone leaves the wooden shutter open in the opening to the crawl space, the pipes freeze, but if it's closed they don't and it is pretty darned cold up there, at least two zones colder than here.
