|Oops, I somehow lost track of this thread when we moved over... Sorry for my absence.
I could probably fix up the crawlspace somehow to store roots. My pipes don't freeze, so maybe it isn't as cold in there as I thought. It's also not the most convenient for access - they really mean it when they say you have to crawl, sometimes even hands and knees makes me too tall.
Stormy, I finally got to the store and bought some celery. I'll make some soup tonight, then plant the base of it. I think it's supposed to be fairly hardy, so I think I'll put it under my low tunnel and see if it survives the winter. I also bought garlic and planted it in all my fruit/flower beds. I've grown it in containers the last couple years, and yields haven't been as good as I'd hoped, so I think maybe it needs to be in the ground.
