A new thread as the other one is getting too long!
I contacted Doris as everyone wishes to know about Charleen. It seems he computer has gone wrong again and Charleen is "working on it!"
But at least we know she is OK, which is a good thing.
I do hope everyone is well and are having better weather than we are, the ice cold wind and rain is getting me down at the moment. As I wish to be out getting some pictures for you all.
Keep warm and safe.
Regards.
Neil.

Love the little iris reticulata. We grow 'Harmony' & one 'Katharine Hodgkin' is left. Planted 'Pixie' last fall. We will see if rodents left them alone when the snow goes.

Hi Brenda,

Our heathers have been in the front garden nine years, tiny things when they were first put in, like the rest of the plants in that garden, much cheaper to buy when small, then see them grow into what they are now.

Ed is coming down with it now. I still have the body aches and the coughing, but at least there is no more chills, no more headache and no more fever. Temp had spiked to over 104º Sunday night. Had a devil of a time breaking it. Yesterday about noon the fever broke while I was napping and you'd have thought I had been swimming. Everything including the blanket was soaked.

So I am on the mend, now my two sons, Ed are all three getting sick. All because my cute little granddaughter brought it home to me, her mom and her Auntie from school. Now its going through the ranks.

I never even considered the flu shot. Next year maybe a whole different kettle of worms. I'll get over this as quick as I can Neil. I'll try to be here when you can't be. Please understand all if this is not gone soon..............I may be missing in action a bit longer.

My asthma Dr. insists on the flue shot. He says he doesn't like the shape of my lungs, although at least I don't have to carry my own oxygen around like many of his patients.

Every time I have had a flu shot I end up with flu!
I think complete hibernation may be the answer.

Neil that is what I am afraid of. Getting the shot then getting the flu.......... Never worried bout it much because like I said I haven't had the flu for years and years. Seems the older I get the more susceptible I am to things I used to be able to avoid.

Let better today. Slept a bit better last night. Maybe things are beginning to look up.

Dear Cherie, I believe that we think we are more susceptible or is it because we are older and wiser than the youngsters! The times I have come home at 6 in the morning after a party only to have a quick cup of tea and go straight to work have long gone. Yet the youngsters seem to think they know better and can do it, but us wise ones know it is not very good for you and catches you up in the end! Last summer the ACF (Army Cadets), asked me to go on a training camp with them as an instructor so I went! The youngsters in the 100 meters sprint totally demolished me, that I admit.
But that night I watched them guzzling pint after pint down in the bar making themselves ill. They did not know what hit them next morning at 5 o'clock when I kicked them out of their beds and gave them 2 minutes to be outside and ready to run. Bloodshot eyes, hangovers and generally feeling unwell was exactly what I knew would happen. So they may have laughed at me in the 100 meters, now lets see what they could do on a 10 mile run. They were falling like leaves in an Autumn/fall storm everywhere. Only 9 out of the 60 cadets made it back to camp with me, the 9 got a shower and breakfast the others did not have such a good time. They got five goes at the Assault course, then a really greasy breakfast which they have to eat as it is an offence not to. The worst thing with a really bad hangover is a heavy greasy fry up! Then they had the rest of the day on cookhouse duties, spud bashing (potato peeling by the ton), and cleaning everything.
Strange, they never crossed me again in my week there with them. I wonder why?
Wisdom vs Youth can win, if only the Youth would listen and that is the hard bit.
Group hug
Regards.
Neil.

You may be older Neil, but who said, "You are wiser".

Have had a good morning, just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
15 litre bags multi compost, bought two bags = £2.00 the two

1 Orange bush Rose, and 1 Lemon Climbing Rose = £2. 00 for the two.

10 Blue crocus = £1 . 00

All plants and bulbs are now in the garden

Oh now I don't know Neil...........I can out party my kids and they're friends hands down. Get up two hours later and start all over. They need the whole next day and and evening to recoup. Course, don't do it quite as often as I used to, that would be nuts..............I'm a bit squirrely at times but I'm not NUTS. Rolling on the floor laughing

Wow Muriel that you were in the right place at the right time. I don't know you money tenders but I look at the 2's at 2.00 (dollars) and I LOVE those kind of deals.
