Dearest Cherie, it was very emotional and painful to say the least! So totally senseless to everyone, as if the politician was there who closed this unit down at the Hospital that cures and has done this awful disease, I would have beaten the crap out of him and then told him there was no cure for him, as the treatment he needs was closed down!
The same politician is being investigated for fraud on expenses, yet he closes down hospital units! He would need the top surgeons in the world if I got hold of him, but he does not have to pay as he is a politician!
When Rachel's son who is eight years old, grabbed my hand and held on for dear life, it melted my heart and everyone had tears streaming down their faces. He clung to me all the time during the two hour service which was not religious. He could not understand it all and gripped even harder when she was placed into the ground. I made a fuss of him at the do afterwards, but he wanted his mum and she is not there anymore. What a waste of a woman, a friend, a weaver, embroider, writer, painter, cook, gardener, dress maker, and a fine mother.
I have had a word with my friend, and he agrees that Robin (the 8 year old), can come and stay with us for the weekend. Gives my friend time to sort things out without an 8 year old to worry about, and he loves being here out in the garden, or helping out in the kitchen.
I normally can tire him out.
The total cost of the funeral was staggering; the do afterwards had 160 people there and all drinks and food were free. With a lot of Irish there they consumed vast quantities of Guinness and Paddy's alone.
Personally I would not have paid the undertakers as they were scruffy, did not know what they were doing, to the point of whilst lowering the coffin, one of them near me got the strap caught around his ankle! I saw it as he slipped almost into the grave and grabbed the strap, whipped it off his ankle and took the weight with him.
Not nice to have two in the grave!
Thank you for looking after things.
Love.
Neil.

So sorry for the family & the young boy. I hope he can talk about his Mum as it keeps the memories bright. Good of you to have him, children need caring adults around.

Breaks my heart for a young one to live without his mother. It isn't a kindly world that allows a child to grow up motherless but it happens all over the world.

My condolences to all..............................

Dear Lucy, Dave my friend had not really noticed that his son had clung to me so much. Dave was sorting things out and was a coffin bearer for his wife, so obviously had a lot on his mind.
Then he was told about it by his family and he saw his son with me as he never left my side. So he came and had a chat and of course to see his son. So knowing the family were all going back on Sunday afternoon, I pointed out I have seen Robin grow up from a baby till now and he has been here and stayed here many times, when Dave and his wife needed a break, especially when her illness was getting worse. Dave still could not understand why he was clinging to me until one of the Aunties told Dave that children will always go to someone they know and feel safe with, as it was all too much for him. So I asked Dave if Sarah and I could have him for the weekend, as he is no trouble at all and Dave thought it a good idea. They are having a family party do on Satyurday night and are all leaving at different times on Sunday. So he will not see loads of people leaving which would only confuse him more than the poor litlle fella is already!
Normally when he comes over I take him down the skittle alley; it is like ten pin bowling but a bit smaller and for children, he loves it as most children do! He also loves to help out in the kitchen, so I always get him involved in that! The Blythe Hill Tavern has an assault course for children and he likes to go on that and have a soft drink and a pacet of crisps. The weather here is an unbelieveable 69F with gloriuos sunshine, so there are lots of places we can go with him as usual.
All I am trying to do is to give him something normal that he is used to, after all this turmoil, and indeed being shipped around from person to person as his mother was so ill.
So I asked Robin if he would like to come over and stay with us, and he ran to his father and asked him with a smile if he could. So he is coming Saturday lunchtime and Dave will pick him up at about 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. At least he is safe here, loves coming here and it gets him out of the way whilst they sort out the house and bring it back to normal.
Of course without his mother anymore, but it is the least we can do.
Regards.
Neil.

Happy Birthday to your Husband!

Neil Robin is so lucky to have someone he trusts. I remember when my Mom had to go away for a weekend, it was wonderful to be at the house with a family friend. I was 13 when my Mom died & it was expected, although children have a way of turning off unpleasant things, If he asks you about it you can explain that she had a nasty disease (with dad's permission) & that should tell him that it wasn't his fault. children can get silly ideas like that. Anyway, he knows he is safe with you and Sarah & that's what he needs right now. It isn't that he doesn't love Dad. Bless you!

The lady in our florist shop who is a friend of mine was challenged to make this. As you can see it is not a bad effort out of flowers!
