Dear Lee, I am glad you are safe and well! I have seen the destruction in the US on our News, it is terrible! My heart goes out to everyone that have lost their family, friends and loved ones.
I am so glad our little Island pleased you with the Royal Wedding, to us it was a mass celebration as one can imagine, and indeed it is still going on as tomorrow is May Day which is a Holiday for us.
Fireworks are still going off near our house, and there were many hangovers, believe me!
My most Traditional Roast Beef Dinner went down well, so did my apple pie and Homemade custard.
Kindest Regards from a very proud England.
Neil.

Dear Neil:

Inky and Charley have made it back okay....Inky slept on his back burping spent ale for some time, he is okay now...but Charley looks a bit worse for wear: http://cubits.org/CharleyTheBigRedMule/thread/view_post/6416...

Dear Jamie, what is this thing about I hate Inky? I do not hate him at all, you are wrong. I do not like dressed up dogs, or dogs that are trimmed up and look like a topiary hedge, but I do not hate him.
I am used to working dogs, that earn their keep. They live outside and work, not inside!
I am a Terrier man or Border Collies, although I do like South African Ridge-backs as well. Unfortunately there are no lions for them to hunt in the UK! Rolling on the floor laughing
I would never hurt a dog as mostly it is their owners fault that they are not trained, not them.
Regards.
Neil.

Dear Neil: Inky IS a working dawg...read up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_poodle

He's of amazing intellegence and is only clipped in proper coat (head fur for warmth, flagged tail for signaling).. He herds other dawgs when they visit and has their immediate respect regardless of size or breed (great with my friend's border collie). Standard poodles are a way different animals than those that were bred to be fru-fru arm ornaments of the stars in the 60's. They are really pretty hardy though. My last one lived to be 17. Even the name "poodle" is from their heritage as water dawgs (after the German for puddle). I take full responsibility for giving him cartoon properties. Smiling It's hard not to make him 'think and talk' because he really does!

Did'ja love Charley's hat though?

Dear Jamie, I thought Charleys hat was lovely! However I think Charley should have sent that to Princess Beatrice, as she had the worst thing on I have ever seen.

That;s where he got it....he had munched on Camilla's and it tasted pretty good so he went after Princess Beatrice's because he thought that one was frosting with a cookie in the middle. Inky found them both rather tasteless. He was inspired by some of the others, Carole Middleton's most I believe.

Hello Jamie and Neil,
Thank you for your kindnesses extended to us here in the Deep South regarding the death and destruction from the tornadoes. Yes, Jamie, you make a very valid point about human error. This is the maddening thing and I'll spare you all my getting on my soap box about what we humans are doing to our Earth.
Great Britain, Neil, should continue to celebrate such a grand affair. You deserve to. I'm pleased for all of you and when I began watching the TV coverage I thought of all my British friends and my heart swelled for all of you.
My best regards to you all,
Lee

Dear Lee, I am an environmentalist but is it too late to repair the damage we have done already?
Whilst a Greenwich I was asked to design the Titanic memorial garden, which I did. One survivor from that disaster planted an Irish yew tree as the Titanic was built in Ireland.
She was asked if the men really did offer money to get on the lifeboats, and she told the audience yes it was true. Thousands of pounds they offered. There was one trouble, thousands of pounds are not a lot of use with limited life boats in the north Atlantic in winter. So they drowned.
My point is when will people learn that we cannot eat money!
Regards.
Neil.

Charley--your taste in hats is dreadful. I thought we had explained that or perhaps your phone was off.

The destruction is so bad & we here must get an organization that really helps to get aid to all the people. Things are just things (although family pictures will still rate high with me). they all have such guts to be willing to start over.

Dear Neil, point well taken. No, I don't think it's ever to late to try to repair the damage. It's my hope that we all can learn from what we humans have done.
And I doff my hat to you for designing the Titanic Memorial. Would you be so kind as to provide a link so I might see it as I'm sure it's most appropriate.
My regards to all of you,
Lee

Thank you Neil for the link as I'll go to it just as soon as I finish here.
Please pardon my possibly posting this in the wrong forum but I'm in need of information on a couple seeds which have sprouted and I've no idea how to tend these plants as I've really no idea which one I have.
A dear friend of mine on here sent me a couple seeds listed wood rose and when I looked it up there were a couple listed: Wood Rose (Dactylanthus taylorii) endemic to NZ and and Hawaiian baby wood rose (Argyreia nervosa).
The leave of the sprouted seeds resemble a morning glory and are a purple green.
I've asked on another site about this but no one seems to know how to tend these plants.
Might someone here help me?
Ok, Neil, off to see your work.
Thanks,
L,

Dear Lee see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dactylanthus_taylorii
Dactylanthus taylorii is a parasitic plant from New Zealand, the only time I have ever seen any is in Botanic Gardens, as it is host specific.

Neil, how splendid your work and how tasteful and appropriate. I shouldn't have expected less. The grounds are something to behold!
I was impressed by your having chestnuts. Most of ours have been wiped out and Owen and I have had to settle for a couple Chinese chestnuts. Too, I wasn't aware that Liriodendrum tulpifera grew there. We've so many around the house here and I refuse to let Owen cut down any sapling due to their being larval food plants for our Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly. Nor do I let him remove any sassafras saplings which pop up as they, too, are larval food sources to our other swallowtails.
I've never had the pleasure of seeing a chestnut tree in its natural environs but heard my mother speak of their being so many when she was a girl.
Again, Neil, well done.
Lee
