Terrible storm through at 2 a.m. this morning. A house about 9, 10 blocks from have a whole big Maple laying on the top of their roof, great big hole in there. Lucky no one was hurt as the bedrooms were all upstairs but they weren't. Thank goodness for that.

Other side of town, another tree fell across the road and its a pretty busy one so there were all kinds of irate drivers having to back up and find a different route to work this morning.

I, myself, slept through the whole darn thing. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Brenda likes vodka with cranberry juice and you like it with tomato juice. Yet vodka is from Russia which the USA since the early 1950s was having a cold war with. it doesn't make sense!
Well after a lot of vodka nothing does anyway! Rolling on the floor laughing

Dear Linda, it tastes even better!
I had to get the Police today as a man rung me claiming to be from a company that recovers money from banks! He told me that they have a cheque for £2,487 for me, but I had to give the man who delivered this U Voucher £621. As I am suspicious by nature and never have known a bank to give anything back, for they only take I rang the Police.
The man duly came round and wanted £621 cash for this bit of paper from a bank I had never heard of, and I could easily have printed the same thing out in 30 seconds.
Unbeknown to him the Police in an unmarked car were outside, so they arrested him for fraud as he is well known to them for doing this! As his car was not taxed or insured the Police took that as well.
The frightening thing is he knew all my details and everything, so the Police now have him to talk to! So much for modern technology and all the so called security measures!
He never got in the door as I would never allow that, although he was very keen to come in, but before he could do anything the Police handcuffed him and got a van to take him away!
Now let him rot, as I hate people like that!

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! for Neil. Guess those scams are rampant everywhere as there has been cases here in the United States. From what I can gather though they usually target the 70 and 80 years old set, that are usually very lonely and will talk with anyone who rings their door bell. It is is so discouraging and outrageous that people will resort to fraud such as this. So glad you are a conscientious and suspicious by nature. Found them out quickly and had the police right there,

Congratulations! You are a hero......................... think of how may others they could have scammed and got away with it.

Hurray for Neil.... Hurray! Hurray!

That's great that you called the police, Neil. Sure he's got something to think about now!

I have windows on each side of my front door and use them when anyone comes. I NEVER just open the door. It's much easier to just say NO to salesman or the religious that come around. We have a fair amount of men posing a police officers, service men from the utility companies, etc, coming to the door and the poor old people, (MY AGE) open the door only to be hit over the head and robbed. Such a shame, but as many times as they read it in the paper, they just don't get it!!! Confused

Hugs,

Nancy

All i know is the Police are quite pleased with me! This man goes to different areas all over London and Kent doing this and other scams. The police told me he has not been seen around here for a long time, so the Police were very happy to say hello to him again, but I somehow do not think he was too happy to see the Police! I hope they throw away the keys, as people who do this are despicable. Maybe he did think it was an elderly person he was dealing with, so was a bit shocked to see an ex Army man in his Regiments sweatshirt!
Anyway I hope he enjoyed his night in a Police cell, and he is in court this morning for the first time. Though It is not his first time in court as he has been there quite a lot, and of course prison, from what the Police told me.

Nancy, I hope you have a gun in the house if you have those people knocking on the doors! We have guns here, and are not afraid to use them if needed. Thanks God Texas has the laws to protect ourselves!

Great going, Neil. Aren't ex army men elderly? Maybe he thought that you bought the sweatshirt. He is rather lucky that the door protected him from you. I hope he lost the use of his car if he gets out.

I was thinking along those lines myself, Lucy. the guy is lucky Neil didn't let him in or go out himself. I'm thinking he'd probably been taken to the hospital rather then jail. Hey Neil?
