|Dear Doris, this is far to an important historic event to be in the pub! I never thought in my or anyone elses lifetime that we would see the barge that brought Anne Boleyn up to the Tower of London for her execution in 1536, being used on the river.
It was sent to every Nation via T.V. as the last time this happened was in 1662, well of this size!
Totally astonishing despite the rain at the end. The original by Cannaletto of the pageant is now in display at the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, where I used to be in charge of the gardens amongst other royal things.
A great day for the UK no matter whatever the weather!
