Several nights ago I started my nightly check of the neighbor's sheep flock. There hasn't been much for me to do, so I waited for an interesting night to begin this diary. I write about it while it's fresh in my mind while I have a cup of herbal tea and wait to feel sleepy before going back to bed. My usual pattern is to sleep 3 or 4 hours, go check the sheep, then sleep a few more hours. And so here is your 3am report from last night.

Thank you for sharing. I have never been around lambs. In Iowa we mostly have cows and pigs. What a tender story.

Arlene, little lambs can just be the sweetest little things. Bottle babies, both lambs and goats, will follow their person anywhere. Remember "Mary had a little lamb...... it followed her to school one day..." After having a few of those 4 legged bottle babies, I'm quite sure it must have been one too. They don't want to let their source of food get too far away.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Well that sure does give a greater understanding of "Mary had a little lamb"! I think dogs are probably that way . . . wonder if it's that way with all animals.

A great state to visit and for some of us, it is home. Our hope and goal for this cubit is to bring to public view all of the amazingly beautiful locations and recreational opportunities that help make Oregon the incredible state that it is.
