"Autumn" 2012 Photo Contest results

By Brenda Essig aka Zanymuse (Zanymuse) on October 22, 2012

n. 1. The season of the year between summer and winter, lasting from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice and from September to December in the Northern Hemisphere and from the March equinox to the June solstice in the S hemisphere : fall. 2. A period of maturity verging on decline.

This was the hardest contest to judge. We have a good number of great pictures. I do not have enough prizes for all of the great ones.

I am cutting more pictures out this time and that hurts me as there are some very good ones in the cut.

But y'all are getting much better and we must start tightening up so we can get even better.

Over in the other forum Photo 101 we are going to start next month on classes that I hope will

help us all(including me) to get even better. So keep a look out for that announcement.

These are all very very good pictures. So these are the first of a new prize for the best group of pictures
The Grand Prize!!!!

Dax080 I like both of these pictures but there are a couple of things that could make them better
Thumb of 2012-10-15/Dax080/8430fe

I like this one but that white pillar distracts from the rest.

This one is also very nice but a tiny bit to bright, if your camera could be set to under
expose the picture a little it would make a much better picture.

I would love to take this walk

a good picture but needs something standing in the field to attract the eye

This is a good use of of something different in a scene

Our Mystery judge this week chose to make no personal comments, but instead, added a quote for each winning image.

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
Albert Camus

― Lauren DeStefano

“The magic of autumn has seized the countryside; now that the sun isn't ripening anything it shines for the sake of the golden age; for the sake of Eden;
to please the moon for all I know.”

“Autumn is the hardest season. The leaves are all falling, and they're falling like
they're falling in love with the ground.”
