Sorry my fault, had not caught up with my sleep after mom's collapse and sitting in the hospital. 24 hours with out sleep makes me goofy. Mom is fine now and off those pills..

Thanks everyone, the doctor promised that now that she is off the diabetic pill and only on insulin, this should not happen again, at least because of her blood sugar.
But she has done it 3 times because of her blood pressure also.
And everyone wonders why I have more grey hair than my mother does!!!!

Glad things are calming down with your Mom....hope the changes in meds make life better for you both. A favorite phrase here is ....running like a chicken with its' head cut off. I used it the other day and saw nothing but sheer confusion on my Grandson's face.....I realized he has never seen anyone get a chicken from the coop for dinner.....he was appalled at the thought.... Whistling

My grandmother would grab the chicken by it's feet, swing it around a few times to make it dizzy, put their head on a tree stump and chop off their heads with an ax, then she would put them on the ground and they would run around with their heads cut off. Blinking

My Great Aunt India had it down to a fine art...catch, swing around a few times and SNAP! and the head would come off in her hand.....I was fascinated and shocked as a little kid....I just always knew I never wanted her to be mad at me..... Big Grin

An old woman in a rest home told me that almost everything tasted better fresh, like they had on the farm with one exception. No matter how few minutes passed between plucking and the table, a tough old bird was still a tough old bird. She said it every time they served her chicken or the old Don Juan down the hall passed by on his walker leering at all the women. Rolling on the floor laughing She was a hoot!
