|Thanks Janet ...Yes it's fun to figure out how to make it work for the big plan. I use the wall cavity alot.. for a lot of things ..fold up irioning boards.. shelving... you get 4-6 " of shelf... with out going into the room space.. so a 10 " deep shelf... is really only showing 4 - 6 " in the room or all in the wall..for a short shelf... like the medicine cabinets.. speaking of which... they used to put a slit in the back of them... and you'd put your used straight razor blades through the slit... and into the wall cavity.. as dead storage.. dead storage... I've put a plaster detail on the wall .. like lips with a slit in the mouth.. and used the wall cavity as a realtively safe piggy bank.. non detectable.. and non withdrawal friendly... without going through and into the wall.. requiring a patch.. lets see what else .. OH..a telephone answerng machine.. remember them..wall mounted ones.. mount in the wall just as well.. jewlery storage.. a very unused ..underused square foot bounty.. ours to exploit ..
Thanks 1AnjL.. minature woodworking also?? I built a doll house for a lady who was having trouble getting it together for her daughter.. and when I was finished..looking at the empty rooms..and I started building furnature for it on my own, it was so obsessive..easy and fast...taking a little bit of nothing.. and turning it into a marble kitchen counter.. a chest adrawers..chairs tables... I couldn't stop myself...I wasn't doing anything I had to do...a chair..shelves..please lady... take the house away from me.
If you haven't tried it.. you're missing out.... it's so obsessive.. so begin carefully..and at your own peril..
OK... here's the cabinet as it is in the kitchen... sorry for the photo quality .. low light... and mess..low modivation...but you can see the bottom of the sink at the top of the cabinet.. and the two 48 x 24 " pull out shelves oh..and the brass counter edging that aso became the towel bar. it's there also..
