Hi, everyone! I finally finished the rag quilt I started last year. Well, I still need to fray it, and then take it to the laundromat to wash it. But first I need some advice about how to finish the ends. Should I sew a double-seam around the edges and rag them, too? Or fold the edge over and make a hem? Or....? Any (hopefully not TOO complicated, because I'm still figuring out this sewing thing Hilarious! ) advice is greatly appreciated!

Marilyn: Looks great, but I can't give advice as I haven't done a rag quilt. My
guess would be seam the edges and don't rag them as that makes snags more
likely, but as I said, I haven't done one. I bow to others who know about these.

I've not made one either. Perhaps if you Google Rag Quilts and look at images, you can figure it out.
OK I just did that and they seem to be ragged on the edges too.
Be aware the laundromats seem to have caught on to us quilters and some now do not allow them. It seems if that is the case they have signs up. Personally what I would do is use the largest machines. I know they cost more but I would think the more room the better the edges will fluff.
