| They usually go $4/dozen here, more if they're blue eggs, and way more if they're green. But my problem is that 2 or 3 of my girls *are* laying, but it's been so damned cold that they're actually freezing before I collect them! Never be afraid of a scar. | Holy crap Arlene! I couldn't pay THAT much for eggs when the stores have them so cheap. Toni, I never understood why brown eggs should cost more. I can see getting your money back on expensive chickens that lay colors, but brown eggs aren't anything special. A small town has no secrets except itself |

| I know, I wouldn't either, but then I wouldn't pay $4 for a bag of lettuce either and that's the going rate at the market where we sold. Area with high disposable income and they sought out fresh and organic. |

| SO adorable! I was two when we got our first chicks and I still remember the yellow of them. So I was always partial to the yellow bitties. But I love all the different chicks colors now. A small town has no secrets except itself |

| Arlene - these babies are a barnyard mix that I picked out right after Christmas. Its a hodgepodge of who knows what the parents are. But I honestly don't care.. as long as they're cute! Mary - some kind of cochin mix. I now have some bantam cochins I need to film while they're walking. It's hilarious imo because of their squat little bodies and huge feathered feet. | Been a long time since I posted, and since it takes so long to load each image individually, I'm just going to link up some Google Photo albums so that I can do it more quickly & precisely. This first album is of my West Side Girls. This is a combination of my originals, including Miss Clucky, the Labor Day Babies (2 black Australorps, 1 gold laced wynadotte, 2 white easter eggers), and the Adopties (black Australorp, 2 Easter Eggers, 1 Black Sex link). I moved them out of the cage brooder into the bunny hutch I set up for them... but unfortunately, the teeny little grey baby didn't make it.  But they *are* becoming BEAUTIFUL! Especially that fluffy grey one w/feathered legs... they should be about 3 weeks-ish old here.https://photos.app.goo.gl/W8FrhX7BDukTvxlm1 And on Saturday, I picked up 3 more babies from a breeder here in Colorado. I'm hoping that they will turn out what he thinks they will... he's developing a gorgeous penciled look and if these babies are part of that line, I'm definitely in for a treat. | Oh wow, West Side Girls are just gorgeous. I didn't realize you had so many. I'm so glad you're keeping them this time. Dinosaurs will be so pretty in a couple of weeks too. The new ones looks awfully tall for just two weeks old. |
