Hello I’m here. Thank you very much for this forum Arlene. I haven’t been posting much lately in the old forum. And last year I didn’t do much quilting, only some small stuff like place mats and some handbags for gifts.

A lot of time was spent at my country cabin. We built a greenhouse there in June. Then I had some falls, one driving wheelbarrows full of gravel and another when carrying chrystal glasses in each hand I hit the dog with my toes and took a fligh about 6’ and landed on the floor breaking the chrystal of course. Fortunately I was unbroken but it took me a few months to mend.

Here is a link to the quilt gallery Sharon made for us. I thought we might like to see it some times.

Good to see you Magga, glad you had no serious injury in your falls but sorry you broke your crystal.
I know we had to have a new cubit but I so miss seeing Barb on our first page.

That is a tricky pattern and I only made the one. I'll be waiting to see yours all finished.

Glad to see you here, Magga! Thank you for the link, I had no idea that existed. I have started to browse them but will have to come back later since I have to head out soon. I also put the link at the top of the thread and will do that whenever we start a new thread.

Angie, it took me awhile but I actually understand now what you said about the strip sets!

Susan, I have no idea what a Jelly Roll Race quilt is but I look forward to some pictures.

Hi, Magga! Good to see your name and face again. Sorry about the falls and the broken crystal and glad you didn't cut yourself to boot. More mature bodies take longer to heal Thumbs up Thank you so much for the link to the gallery. I like to look at quilts, old and new.

Arlene, I guess I should have made it clear that there are 2 strips of fabric on each of those strip sets. The vertical lines are the cutting lines to separate the squares and the diagonal lines are the stitching lines. Once the diagonal lines are sewn, the square are cut apart and then each square is cut on the diagonal between the 2 stitching lines. And by all means, do include the link at the top of each new thread.

Need to start typing. Sigh.

I have jelly rolls, but gotta tell ya.......... I couldn't figure out what she was doing - I would need to have more than one closeup. It looked great finished, but...........?!?!?! I was confused. Confused It looked like she had loops, and cut them apart, but would have to see what she did, closeup and personal. Blinking

Susan, I agree. Once I get a jelly roll, I'll have to review that video again. I'm not sure how she's looping it all together, either, but I know we'll figure it out. Won't be any time soon.

Hope everyone has a happy quilting day.

Wasn't home much today - no sewing, quilting OR knitting Hilarious!
We went to town, and did some shopping, and went bowling! I'm getting the hang of it after 4 years of not bowling because of my knees. They're mostly healed, but now I have to get my game "back". I'm about 60 points below my average........ and Bob's right "on point". Sticking tongue out

Thanks Can-Susan, I like that one too. I am currently working on the 45 degree angle one. I will do this one next.

Just love all Jenny's tutorials.

That one is certainly clearer because I was wondering about the strips getting twisted and what to do when that happens. Now I know. I also like the look of this one better, I think. Certainly a quick project for a weekend.

Thanks ladies - that other one was confusing to me too (re: twisting, etc) because I couldn't see what she was doing.

Today we have cold rain, possibly mixed with sleet, so after church and dinner, I think I'll work on my next block for DD's quilt. I love shut-in days because I have an excuse for quilting!

Same here Angie, rain and a good day to slip into the sewing room and stay there!

Magga, thank you for the link to the galleries. I'm sorry you fell but glad you didn't break any bones. I hope the glasses weren't a keepsake. I'll bet it scared the dog too. Come around when you can for conversation. Doesn't have to be about quilts!

I have one more day of mending before I can get back to my quilt.
